The promise he showed as a superfeatherweight when he dominated the division.

If you think no, just how highly do you rate floyd?

What the hell has this got to do with floyd's legacy?

We've already established you don't rate floyd as high as others do but why try bringing a pac-martinez comparison into it?

so pacquiao who has not yet fought at 126 back then and was seen as a crude boxer taking on the top 126 fighter and p4p fighter in barrera is not seen as dangerous floyd taking on martinez who would drop down to 154 from 160? even if pacquiao would not be sparked out, he would have to receive a brutal schooling from the technically superior barrera at the time.

and pacquiao look like what at 140 that time? pac looked like what at 147 that time? the thing is, no one knew how pac would carry his speed and power going-up from 135 at the time. he just recently moved-up from 130. people are even saying he is cashing-out in a circus fight with oscar and he would be sparked by delahoya even if they saw the forbes fight.

floyd only needs to do is drop the blood test, fights pacquiao and drops him in the ninth round for good....its that simple...

Don't take the bait. This is a thread about floyd's legacy, not pac's.

If he just fights them he will have met his potential. If he beats them all then he will arguably be #1 ATG. He will be able to say he is better than SRR with a straight face and people will be able to debate whether or not it's actual true with a straight face.

He if does that then he might just be the next SRR.

sorry mybad! i already answered on this thread before. fighting and beating pac alone would help floyd fulfill his potential. it's bad that he missed cotto back in 2008 so missing pacquiao currently would be disappointing. ortiz and khan would not greatly help his legacy now as they would be seen as lesser match-up compared to pac and martinez at 154 or 160.

But everyone would have him in their top 5 and some would have him as 1.

He is good enough he is just afraid of losing his precious 0. He probably already could be the best boxer who ever lived if he took more risks. He should have beat Berto, Cotto, Williams, Mosley, Ortiz, and even without fighting Pacquiao he would be the greatest ever. Since he didn't do that he has to beat Ortiz, Pacquiao, Khan and probably Martinez to surpass Sugar Ray Robinson.

And he has what it takes to do it. He could beat all of them. So why shouldn't he try and even if he loses and rematches, Sugar Ray Robinson lost before.

Quite simple really, the poster I was replying to said floyd would have to beat pac and martinez to some how shut him up.

So by that assumption floyd would have to fight a dangerous middleweight in martinez in order to be rated as highly or near pac. The poster I replied to is a pro pac fan so I take it from previous posts and threads he rates pac way higher than floyd.

So i presented a simple question, who has pac fought that was as dangerous as the current martinez. Because you can't judge mayweather on such an extreme scale then not judge pac on that same level.

Somehow beating the fighter of the decade and the p4p number 1 is not enough for mayweather, he has to go and beat the most dangerous middleweight in boxing, it's ridiculous.

Or you could just take it at face value: floyd beating pac and martinez would fulfil floyd's potential and put him in the top ten of all time bracket. A bracket the poster clearly feels floyd is capable of reaching hence his post.

Unfortunately I can't take it like that, leonard has never posted anything positive about floyd it has been all negative since my time on ESB. Hence why I find it laughable at his criteria in order for floyd to apparently shut him up for good.
