Just to reaffirm my earlier point about Golovkin being overrate, heres a thread and poll that discussed a possible matchup between him and N'jikam:

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=328197&highlight=gennady+golovkin+vs+hassan+N%27dam+N%27jikam

Jusst look at how one sided this poll is in favour of Golovkin and its easy to see why he is overrated. I think N'jikam will beat him quite clearly, he has the tools to outbox him. And I would put money on that, in fact the odds would probably be great for a N'jikam win because of how highly people rate Golovkin:deal

Njikam is **** weak though, hence why no one is favouring him.

He doesnt need to be an great puncher or to be incredibely strong to beat Golovkin, his boxing skills would win it for him against the basic Golovkin.

A legitimate defense which he lost, which can hardly be used in defence of a good reign can it?

The fact that a 175lbs Burns beat Hart means surely you could argue that the 170lbs Ketchel was just a worthy defence for Jonhson?

Add in an old Jefferies as you say, Moran and Flynn as credible opponents I think you'd have a hard time debating that Marvin Hart's reign was in fact better.

Or how about Willard's run? One defence beating Moran before losing to Dempsey. How is this superior to Johnson's? I am interested to hear your argument.

The fact is that Johnson's resume suffered because of his refusal to fight black fighters, who were the leading heavyweights in the world at the time.

The reason that nobody cares about anything below 130/135 is mainly down to race.

I though it was just to do with the size of the fighters?:think

Casuals don like watching small men fight.

Yes his resume could of been better, but the point I am making is how is it worse than the reigns of Hart, Willard or Johansson for example?

As a side note, Johnson may of only defended against one black fighter in Jim Johnson, but he had already defeated Jeanette, Langford and McVey before he was champ.

That plays a part, but I sincerely believe that if Britain produced numbers of Flyweights in the same number they do, say, SMW's - then fans would be crawling all over the division.

The amount of people who only follow closely fighters from their own nations is huge - which is not controversial in itself.

Thats probably a factor also, when you think about it American boxing fans are some of the most ignorant boxing fans in the world. Some never giving full credit to a fighter who isnt American.

Im not agreeing with the other posters comment, i believe Johnson had a good resume compared to some other champions.

It was before his reign he beat them, we are talking about his time as champion. He would have had a lot better reign had he beaten them again while champion.
