Well lately Id say yes. Gone were the throws from the clinch, but to be fair he was with his back against the cage with Hendo mostly, gone were the accurate g'n'p, and gone were the guard work and punches to set up a submission

Replaced by ''If I swing at him one of them will land eventually'' displays from the Sylvia fight onwards

Hendo knew this would leave him off balance, got the clinch and the rest is history

I don't think he's shot. But I KNOW he's not average. He has had 2 really tough fights after a freak loss I think. I restate Bigfoot gives Fedor nightmares at any stage of his career. And Hendo is Hendo, probably the only guy in all MMA with a better chin than Fedor.

fedor just doesn't have that serial killer look/intensity....did he find a new 20 year hottie or something?

I just rewatched it too. Nothing to do with intensity. More to do with sloppyness. He tried to GNP Hendo without getting position first. Just dived on him instead of mounting and got reversed and then never saw the shot coming from underneath. You have to say that was rookie. If anything too intense and fired up.

You guys should take into consideration how other top MMA fighters regard Fedor, these are people who are in the business and knows better what to look for when calculating their opinion about other fighters. If Fedor was really overrated by fans, don't you think other MMA champions would be more than happy to expose him long ago especially those from rival organizations. Instead, MMA champs from even UFC itself have called Fedor the greatest, names such as GSP, Cain Velasquez, Bas Rutten, BJ Penn, and many more. Who else have such widespread recognition as Fedor?

The man earned his merits through years of domination while taking on any top oppositions that come his way. He has defeated better versions of each fighters he has recently lost to, such as for Henderson there was CroCop, for Werdum there was Big Nog, for Bigfoot Silva there was Hong Man Choi (well this one is mostly just similiar in size).

Sure even in Fedor's prime he is not invincible, because no one truly is, but he have the ability to beat pretty much anyone with great odds in his favor. There will always be ones who overrate and underrate him, but he has proven enough over 10+ years that he is one of if not the best that been in the MMA ring.

like i said before, his gnp is great. his grappling ability, too, is legit. his boxing has always been sloppy. technically, if there is such a thing in mma, he has always been unbalanced. I feel hendo will always give fedor problems too, just as much as bigfoot and werdum.

and most people don't pay any attention to the fact that the man is fat. all that potato and vodka. the man should've been 205.

Its hard to say. Everyones overrated even those whose technical skills are through the roof like Floyd in boxing or you can even say Jon Jones in MMA. Fedor has certainly made his mark but he has not evolved with his game. Where others like Werdum has improved his striking, Overeem his wrestlng, Anderson his BJJ, Fedor has not done much to improve.

Also he faced a laughable lineup of competition post Mirko and pre Werdum that it was hard to guage when exactly he became shot.

I will say this, I have envisioned him getting into trouble with his sloppy striking just because hes not a great wrestler who can dictate where the fight takes place.

I think if you had to ask alot of people now realizing these glaring flaws in Fedors game most people would take Silva, GSP or even Hendo (although I dont agree) above him in terms of ATG.

All of the people you have mentioned though have bad loses in there careers, fedors loses have come at the end of his career and is fighting the next generation on from him.

Not sure how to read it. When Henderson had him against the cage it looked like a pro athlete against a regular guy. Henderson used his strength and leverage to do whatever he wanted with Fedor for a LONG time against the fence and Fedor seemed totally unable to get anything going to combat it. If Henderson had wanted to he could have held him there the whole round kneeing him in the leg. For a guy that grappled with Coleman and Randleman and whatnot, that was a SHOCKING lack of strength from him. It seems like he's really just not into training and doesn't care to or can't get in the shape he needs to be to do anything constructive in there. He should have retired after the Silva fight, or maybe even the Rodgers fight.

I remember when Fedor fought mirko and owned mirko in the stand up. I think it's absurd for anyone to think this is the same fighter. In his pride days he was never the greatest boxer but he wasn't so wild and sloppy. There was a lot more method behind his work. Now the plan is to just go out swinging hoping for that big shot.

Overrated? I think that's harsh considering who he was beating in his pride days. Not just winning but dominating guys which were supposed to be difficult fights.

Sure maybe you can include those blemishes (early Silva loss) in judging but you can also say that prime version of Silvia is more devastating fighter than Fedor ever was and people could argue that he is more skillful.

As for GSP, yes people would look at that Serra loss but they would also look at GSP as the fighter whos won the most and lost the least amount of rounds in the history of the sport. Thats how dominant he is.

Tbf though gsp also lost to matt hughes and although hughes is an atg he hasn't exactly got a vast range of fighting skills.
