    What I will say about Pea is that I think a lot of people seriously underrate his offense because of his tremendous defensive capabilities. Not that I think his offense is equal to Leonard's or anything of the sort, but there isn't as much between them as meets the eye.

    For instance(VISUAL EVIDENCE CHEPS):

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ynGnpGgwCw&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

    Watch his body-punching on the inside, the way he's not only beating a guy by only making him miss, he's doing it by actually beating Brazier up, his ability to go on the assault and dictate the tempo in which the fight is fought at is often, and probably understandably so, overlooked.

    He wasn't a mere pot-shotter who relied on making his opponent miss, his defense was the main facet of his game, yes, but it wasn't the only facet as a lot seem to believe. The fact he rose through a few weight classes, standing in front of the adversary all the while is a testament to him. Obviously I ain't forgetting the Mayweather fight too, he's more complete than he's given credit for by many IMO.

    His punch output is definitely underestimated you're right. Perhaps because he did move a lot in some of his more famous fights.

    I remember watching this a few months ago, look at the way he was able to presssure and bully a bigger man. He swaped him with volume and made Brazier look the weaker fighter. That just shows how multi-dimensional Whitaker was. Watch his fight with Pineda, who was an absolute tank of a light-welterweight, and see Pea do the exact same thing:deal

    Not by me jPab. The most consistent jab of alltime, the ability to rough guys up on the inside, shots up and down, and underrated savagery are all reasons why people who call Pea 'feather fisted' or that 'his lack of power hurt him' get cussed by me.

    He was brutal in pummelling Hurtado within an inch of his life.

    Outfought JCC at every range.

    Cleanly sparked the durable Naziro; only stopped once previously by massive puncher Edwin Rosario

    I mean, what else would anyone need??? Another example of boxrec-induced 'myths' IMO. Sweet Pea, on first glance, is no 'runner'. He batters people, his defence was always a means to beat people up.

    Greater fighter: Evander or Mike?

    I'm edging towards Holyfield :think Both are somewhere in the 35-45 bracket IMO.

    :yep This is well known.

    'No. 95# It is impossible to dislike the fighting mechanics of Sweet Pea nor The Cuban Hawk. Ergo, it is also impossible to cite 'a lack of pop' as the biggest detriment to their overall output.'

    Holyfield. Spinks has a better light heavyweight career than Holy has at cruiser but I don't think they compare at HW.

    I'd go Holy too, tough choice. Hatton is obviously better than both though. Source: Boxing Sage Jenna who owned the whole Brit form.
