Lol. No. Prescott is a ****ing bum who scored a fluke knock out on an obviously weight-drained Khan. Khan will lose nothing if he doesn't rematch him, simply because Prescott has not done a single thing to warrant a rematch. And Khan has supposed that lose more than most would have predicted!
This is just as wrong as those that say it ruined him. That was not a fluke KO and the weight-drained excuse is about the most pathetic one I've ever heard, especially for a 21-year old. That was the real deal. And Prescott is no bum. He hasn't shown yet that he's world class, but his only losses are a split decision to another world champion, and a decision loss to another highly ranked contender. And of course, he does have a devastating KO win over another world champion. that's not the resume of a bum. Right now, if things stay as they are then no, Khan's legacy won't be hurt by it. But if Prescott gets a couple of quality wins and just won't fade away like they're hoping, then yes, he'll have to rematch him or it will hurt his stock.
It all depends on Prescott. If he becomes a serious player than Khan has to fight him again and beat him. However if Prescott fades in to obscurity or just is not a major player than despite the fact that a first round Knockout loss is hard to live down. I think Khan's career will be mostly uneffected by it.
