ponce hasnt proven to be a Top A level boxer recently. He will lose this fight as he is out of his league.

Ponce would have to have perfect timing to get Gamboa out of there. His team has been woriking on his boxing skills, so you never know. Julio's speed and skillset are just so much better than Ponce that the only chance Ponce may have is a puncher's chance. If he hurts Gamboa early and Julio get's rattled and forgets his fight plan, he has a slight chance.

salido loss 11 out of 12 rounds and got stopped in the last round, and you call that though? oh I forgot, you were the guy saying Salido would mop the floor with Gamboa, every time Gamboa fights a mexican you say the same thing, this time you have being more polite.

Johns is in the witness protection program (He will never fight Gamboa, just like Ortiz was running from Napoles and never gave him a chance)
Arum pay off Gamboa's for his IBF belt, so Garcia's could fight for and win it, they knew he didn't have a chance as long as Gamboa was the Belt holder, and after Juanma debacle he needed another cash cow, now c Arum pushing for a fight with Dib,
Gamboa will move to 130 lbs and I don't think Broner's ppl will risk a fight with the Cyclone Gamboa.

You musta fallen off a coconut tree my friend because I never said that. But stop acting like the Salido fight was a walk in the park for Gamboa because he got put on his ass too. Tell me, what other fight was a tougher one than Salido? Im not discrediting Yuriorkis hes a badass fighter, but dont act like he wasnt struggling in there with Salido because Salido for being a 2nd tier Mexican fighter didnt look so bad. You going to tell me Solis was a tougher fight than Salido? GTFO with that ****.:rofl Ay por favor.:-(

    Atri !

I like your prediction, honest and not biased. I have a feeling that this will be another Gamboa beatdown ala Solis, but boxing is boxing and styles are styles. Putting Nationalities and prides aside, if no one knew the Country nor the Nationality of Gamboa and PDL, I am very sure that over 98% of people in their right minds would pick el Mulatico, ( light Black guy ) Gamboa.

To all my Mexican friends: Gamboa is a freak of nature and not your common talented World Champion. His insane speed, athleticism, KO power and amateur pedigree place him as one of the best pure talents that has come from the Rich Boxing Island of Cuba. Gamboa is going to be 3 times better than Casamayor and Casamayor was a great World Champ! Heck, at 20-0 Gamboa has already achieved much more than Casamayor.

Gamboa easily TKO's Ponce De Leon in less than 4 rounds. ;)

After this, John keeps on running ... :-(

Amigo, just because Salido was constantly pressuring Gamboa it doesn't mean that he actually win any rounds except the one of the knockdown. Gamboa was the one landing the hardest, the cleanest and the most punches non-stop. In other words, if that fight would have been an amateur fight ( in where points really count ), the score would had been a total blowout. Salido got extremely lucky that Gamboa went crazy and hit him late behind the head as he was already knocked down when that happened. Much credit to Salido for acting like a true gentleman and not trying to win by DQ. :good

And shame to Gamboa for not admitting and not apologizing in hitting him late behind the head. Boxing is boxing but fighters can't let their emotions get the better of them. If I was Gamboa, I would have gone to Salido after the fight and apologize for doing that, that's being a true man and a true sportsman! ;)

Well, when you have PDL's power I suppose you always have some sort of chance - I really don't see it though. For me, Gamboa is a class above.

As far as Gamboa's chin, he's been knocked down several times but he never seemed really hurt, even when Jiminez caught him with a forearm/elbow. He reminds me of Tito in that respect - almost every kd was a flash-knockdown where he appeared off-balance rather than being in any danger of getting stopped.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'll take Gamboa to beat anyone under 135.

Is this a 10-round fight? I had no idea WBA stripped him of the title.
