Hey Guys I have been watching of big fight undercards and Friday night fights, I began to wonder in 3-5 years who would we on boxing forums and in the general media be speaking of as super stars in super fights like De la Hoya vs Mayweather. Unfortunately, there is not anyone on the horizon with "superstar" appeal. Boxing has been on the decline for years. The Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, De La Hoya and Jones days are gone. PBF and Manny have less than a 1/2 dozen left between them. No amateurs on the horizon, hopefully the 2012 crop brings a savior
Donaire and Gamboa are 28 and 29 respectively. Not exactly youngsters. Though they can probably do well into their 30s because they haven't really been in many wars.
No one has told the noob to STFU yet??? Fine i will do it. Shut the **** up Noob!!! As far as the OP we have so much talent coming up specially with international sensations like Canelo, Khan and Chavez Jr. Those guys all do big numbers and will only be getting bigger as time goes by.
there are alot of amateurs coming up. alot. its a new breed of fighters going back to fighting hard also. im excited about the future of boxing. look out for me too.
I don't get this whole "the good old days are gone, nobody looks really special these days" attitude, it's not like people just stopped being born with talent, yeah the golden era it is not but there are LOADS of guys out there with world class skills/potential
