After taxes, paying sanctions, paying his management, trainer, etc., it's peanuts.
Good call from Pavlik, although it should have been earlier, it's always, better late than never. :smoke

The Bute fight has nothing to do with the upcoming fight he's pulling out of. Who's clueless here????

This fight was already made, contracts signed, money agreed upon. If this is his way of some sort of leverage, I'm thinking the lever just broke and he's now flat on his ass.

If he is getting 1.1 million for fighting Bute then he probably should be upset and I don't blame him for playing hardball there. But, first don't call it peanuts because few will sympathize with you on that. Second, go through with the tune-up fight that you admit you need. Besides dumping on Showtime and his local fans,he's either going to look for a different tune-up at a later date or he's going straight into a big fight with a lot of rust and he and his trainer have said thats a bad idea.

Unless his purse from the Cunningham fight was tied in someway with his Bute fight he should have fought this Saturday. Right now, Pavlik seems to have made a bad decision but things change and we'll see how this plays out.

It's cool and all that you guys are mad at Kelly right now about this. But in a few months time the "Bute is a ducker" train is gonna be right back on track and there's pretty much nothing he can do about it. First Kessler, now Pavlik. Johnson's probably gonna get hit by a bus in the next month.

    Who else can he fight?

Quillin? Too green... Not well known enough.
Abraham? Learned his lesson at 168, probably going back down to 160.

Johnson is really the only option out there.

    This is sad.

I'm a huge Pavlik fan, but, I've been concerned about his comments around the Martinez loss that it was entirely due to making 160. The dude came out of rehab the week of the fight. Lost 20 pounds to get down to 160. Still is even thru 8 rounds before crapping out. And he truly believes that the effects of alcohol and having to get clean in rehab had NOTHING to do with him having to lose that weight?
That is just pure and simple DENIAL.

Now the reported fight with his brother involving alcohol.
Other various reports that he is still drinking.

    And now the fight cancellation?

This just has downward spiral written all over it.
The Bute story is just a cover for whatever else is going on in his life.

Bull**** it doesnt work like that. This was just a tune up there arent "package deals" for fights. He couldve took this fight and still told Bute to go **** himself if the money wasnt right.
