How would you see a fight between these two going? In his prime at 175, Roy was just astonishing and I find it very hard to see anybody stopping him. He just had his style down to a tee. Now Conteh is a boxer that I admire and respect greatly but I feel he would fall quite a bit short in this one. I could see him making it uncomfortable for Jones Jr and taking some rounds on workrate and inside work but in the end I'd fancy Jones Jr to pull away with it and take a fairly clear decision

UK > USA on the internet.
Therefore on ESB classic John Conteh beats everyone at 175 ,

I never had any disagreements about Conteh beating them because I think they're just as overrated as he was and I don't know much about Conteh so it is more than just possible that he could beat them , I only meant it in the manner of Hopkins whom is one of this forum greatest favorites who beats everyone in fantasy fights ('cept from Charles & Conteh) still loses a fantasy fight to Conteh on ESB classic.
I never thought for a fracture of a second that it was a wrong choice , just was surprised and took time to understand the reason to the Huge respect Conteh gets here.
Hopkins , Conteh grossly overrated , Charles too , with the little difference that he actually was a very good fighter , but far from how he is considered here.

Conteh was very good...... but hardly on Roy's level.

He puts up a good showing, but Jones makes him look 2nd rate for the most part, and wins going away.

Conteh wins it IMO, his consistant jab and subsequent countering off of it bodes well here IMO, although Jones' speed is obviosuly going to allow JOnes some sucess but I see a Conteh KO at some point.

THat's because 90% of the time Conteh only ever gets matched with Hopkins or Calzaghe on here, or Toney.Or some other supermiddle who never proved **** against good light heavies.

It's one of this forums strangest trends. There's been almost as many threads on them over the years as Whitaker vs Duran.

It is weird how Conteh always gets the same random match ups.

Its like the Pep vs Malignaggi thread that has popped up more than once. Weird

He doesn't usually do THAT well in the rare 175 vs 175 fights he crops up in, about on par with pastrano or torres.I've seen plenty pick ****ing Virgil Hill over him.

Ancient supermiddles seem to be his level and speciality:lol:
