I'm a Pavlik fan and I have been for years, however, this recent news is very troubling. The only excuse I think is valid, is if Pavlik is drinking again and knows he will lose his next fight, never mind against Bute. Assuming that is the case, I won't hate on Pavlik and neither should anyone else. It's irresponsible, yes, but he is an addict and should be treated as one. However, if drinking isn't at the root of this, then his actions are inexcusable. No matter what, there is no excuse. The money he is being offered is more than fair and considering how his stock has fallen, he should be jumping at the chance to earn over a million and get a shot at a world title. Pavlik was always a warrior. I hope he is but the only two scenarios are that he's drinking again or he think he's going to get beaten. Both of those are sad news for all Pavlik fans.
He realizes that the game is up, he's ruined what was left of his career after the B-Hop thrashing by boozing it up and he realizes that if he stops his Tour de Bums and fights someone legit his China Chin is going to get checked.:rofl
I agree with that. His career is basically over. atsch You seriously think he has a china chin? His chin is one of his better attributes. Since he beat Taylor he's fought Lockett and Espino who weren't great, Rubio who was and is a legit contender, and B-Hop and Martinez, two of the top P4P fighters today. Hardly bums.
You forget Lopez who also isn't anything special and still made him look terrible and the Cunningham bout that fell through. Those alone are enough to make it obvious that he's cherry picking and looking for easy paydays. And yes, I do believe that he's got a Glass Jaw and that it will be exposed as soon as he quits making stupid demands and dropping fights and gets in there with somebody legit who can crack.
if he is back to drinking should retire and forget about boxing, i feel sorry for him.He was fun to watch.
Falling out a couple days before his come back fight after months of rehab and rumors of hard drinking. Yeah rock bottom for a "top fighter".
