If the fighter wants to give all their money to their manager then fair enough. But it should always be that the promotion pays fighter and the fighter pays the manager.

What Golden Glory wanted to do was how the UFC pay the fight the fighter a nominal fee but pay a much larger amount directly to them.

Now is it harsh that Coenen got cut? Yep. Its very brutal. But Golden Glory try a power play (for all their fighters, not just Overeem) and the UFC is pushing back. Don't like it but in our glorious capitalist society its the way things are. This is the way the UFC does business and its no coincidence that everyone else who indulged the likes of GG have gone broke.

That is what you get when only one promotion runs things. Zuffa did well for MMA but they are not all of MMA.

So we're ignoring the fact that UFC did the same thing to a much bigger camp in 2008 when Strikeforce was still independent and Affiliction were still around? And refused to sign Fedor for the same reason in 2007?

Makes perfect sense. Dana has stated publicly he has ZERO interest in womens MMA. Now he's thrown her and Overeems brother under a bus. Looks like Zuffa clearly has beef with Golden Glory. I mean FFS they only just signed Olav!! And that was a multi fight contract. He's had ONE fight. Monopolys are awesome! They're brilliant for the sport.

Sergei has already said he's not interested in moving to the UFC. He'll be off soon. Either Dana will axe him as his done with the other GG fighters. Or Sergei will finish the GP and that's his lot. Absolute ****ing joke. You get rid of Overeem who was the SF champ. And then you axe Coenen after a loss as the now former champ. Dana is a sack of ****. **** Zuffa.

Forget about Showtime. They have no interest in Dana White and his bull****.

Showtime aren't dealing with Dana for that reason. We'll see what happens. If MMA ends up leaving Showtime then this was a bad thing - less television shows means less events which means less spots for fighters and less money flowing back into the promotion.

I doubt he cares about that. Dana's never struck me as an individual who has any ethics much less for common sense. His obviously got 'Steve Jobs syndrome'. Im not expecting any deal between Showtime and the UFC.

Absolutely right. I'm sure there will be some exciting moments given Nick's gameness but anyone who knows Diaz's history with wrestlers and understands how much better GSP is than those guys who have already wrestle****ed him realizes that this is going to be the usual conservative GSP clinic.

I plan on it! This whole Golden Glory debacle is Overeem's fault. He held Strikeforce and their title hostage for years then as soon as he's asked to fight on a regular basis he walks away and signs to fight somewhere else.

Exactly Ive even been told that Nick has the better striking and has beat some world class guys....

The only guy who can trouble GSP left in that division is Condit imo, but that's a different thread

And the issue is Coenen, who as far as Im aware was a fine ambassador for SF
