This guys is interesting. Was on the Pound 4 Pound list for 8 Consecutive years (1993-2001)

And retired undefeated (51-0), yet not many people talk about

What's the verdict on this guy ? I'm I missing something here.

One of the best to ever lace'em, but stayed in one division, one that hardly anyone watches. His move up to 108 was a bit too late.

Yup should have moved up when Carbajal and Chiquita were there.

One of the most complete fighters i have ever seen and a joy to watch.

Technically as close to perfect as theres ever been.

Finito Lopez was one of the best technicians ever. One of my favorite fighters to watch in the ring, he had a beautiful textbook style.

Nacho Beristein's masterpiece. Pretty much the prototype of the Marquez bros, but better. He went through dangerous and worthy defenses like a hot knife through butter and had 2 thrilling fights with Alvarez. He fought so textbook and so perfect it almost seemed unorthodox. Best way to describe would maybe be a technician with power. Idk if his son will be as great as him, but he mimics his dads style to a t and is a mirror image. Hes the only son of a legend that actually does seem to have a promising future.

Why? Well because nobody gives a damn about Minimumweights. I mean 90% of the boxing public don't know that the weight class exists, out of the remaining 10%, 90% of them don't know anybody in the division/care about the division. So essentially 1/100 people who watch boxing might actually even know about him let alone how good he was.

The verdict is: top 50 P4P easy, I have him top 30-ish

People don't talk about him on ESB because people on ESB hate undefeated fighters.

    Mayweather Jr, Lopez, Marciano, Calzaghe

One of my favorite boxers to watch, all time. I don't watch him a lot these days, but when I do, it's a treat. PERFECT balance.

Great boxer with some power that fought in the lowest division so he wont get much credit to begin with. Then you add that he never had that marquee fight where he couldve shown his skills in a big fight.

He shouldve fought la chiquita or carbajal but he never did and remained at 105 and didnt want to go up three pounds.

The consensus among boxing fans was that Lopez would be a household name if he was fighting at around welter.

One of the greatest technicians of the Sweet Scince. Fighters down in those lower weight divisions don't get much recognition even though they are more entertaining than the heavyweights.

Can someone tell me how much over the weight limit R. Alvaraz was at the weigh-in for the rematch?

Just looked at the dvd - Alvarez was 108 and 1/4 for their second fight, whereas Finito was 103 and 1/2. Don't know how much Alvarez weighed once he wad in the ring though.

Lopez was textbook. Impeccable technique, speed and power. His jab, straight-right, left-uppercut combination was poetry in motion.

Why isn't he better known? He was a straw-weight, simple as that.
