There is a difference between physical power and punching power.

Punchers are born, but can be made better with proper form.

You are born with power but you can develop it. Tyson punched so hard because of his stile. Malignaggi cant punch too hard because of his brittle hands. The dude take calcium pills or something.
Then there are guys like Shavers and Foreman who just had that raw power.
Alvarez has tons of power but he doesnt seem to have that extra punch that KO´s people. Maybe its his inexperience and lack of ability that hinders the use of his full potential.

Mariusz Wach seems to be steadily improving his power.

Sport science in my opinion isn't very relevant and real. They said that Cain Velasquez hit two time harder than hardest hitter boxer. This mean that he hit harder than Shavers or Foreman, sorry two time harder.I don't think so.

Well, I'll tell you this, what they say completely agrees with what every boxing coach I've ever talked to said.

Also, my coach in 2004 had a kid in Colorado for the Olympic Trials. A university was there with one of these machines that measures punching power.

My coach, a former pro fighter who was in his 60's at the time, hit it 4th hardest out of everyone who punched that thing all weekend.

Just like my old girlfriend, thousands of people hit it in a single weekend.

Still, even at his age he out punched all of them but 4. They mailed him a certificate that's hanging in our gym.

Anyway, if you ask him how he could do that, he will explain it to you just like Fight Science did.

    Its all about technique.

    :rofl What the...
Boxers can KO people with one punch and they are wearing gloves that spread the impact so the damage would be reduced. if Donaire had punched Montiel with a MMA glove there would have been hole in Montiels face instead of the dent.
That Velasquez dude must be killing everyone.

:lol: those things suck, especially if it happens in front of a crowd, I nearly broke my hand by punching stupid when I was 12 years old with one of those thinking I was strong.
