    why is this trolling? if his grandfather emigrated to america and married a white women would it be controversial to refer to their irish routes?

    lots of americans call themselves irish despite being no more irish than ali is.

    As the article say's Ali was already aware of his Irish ancestry before it was confirmed in recent years. It's likely he was aware of his Irish ancestry as early as 1978, he was being interviewed by Irish television and during the interview he was talking about people with Irish surnames and he twice mentioned Grady. Grady wouldn't be an overly common Irish surname so it's highly likely Ali was aware of his Irish ancestry and his Grady ancestry in particular. He also fought in Ireland in 1972 when he was unable to secure big figths in the States and he was ware that his Irish ancestry was not caused by **** as he claimed in an interview with Parkinson in 1978. I'll post the interviews later.
