I think this fight is completely dependent on the shape Barrett comes in at.

He (in almost everyones opinion) cleanly beat Tua the first time around. Took his shots, out boxed him. Even cleanly knocked him down.

Tua no longer has the explosiveness, or speed, to land his shots. He's always struggled with boxers, or punchers that chose to box him, whether they be large or small. Beyond his power, what does he have?

Wooden, Byrd, Lennox, Rahman, Oquendo, Salif. They all boxed and all greatly troubled or beat Tua.

I can't see whats going to change in a second fight, as long as Monte comes in at a good weight he's going to take it.

Absolutely can't wrap my mind around Monte being +420 odds wise though. :nono:-(

Wow. A Tua fight were someone says the outcome depends on what shape the other guy comes in at.

That's got to be a first.

Tua already came in 10 pounds heavier then he did for Barret against King, don't really need to question his dedication

Barrett has always forgot how to get the hell outta there after an exchange. He let's brawlers brawl with him and trades shots.

Hopefully your right and he tries to outbox TUAMAN again, and this time don't get robbed. But if he pulls some **** where he standing in the pocket trying to trade shots, he could be KTFO.

Oquendo outboxed Tua...until he got cocky and got KTFO.

But you are right, I think David is past it. Like Tyson, he needed that quickness to get inside to be effective.

They say the first thing to go is reflexes...then speed...then power.

Well, his reflexes aren't what they used to be.

His speed is almost completely clean, as is the crispness of his punches.

Even when Tua did land, body or head, Barrett took it.

Just don't see what Tua is going to do. Can't imagine Tua coming in at a great weight either, he was almost 250 pounds against King. :-(

You better get prepared to lose some cash. I don't care what shape Barrett comes in he isn't winning.

Tua had rotator cuff issues in the last fight so he had less pop in those punches
Add that every man and his dog thought that Barrett was there just to collect a pay check, Tua overlooked Barrett last time. This time Tua is healthy and focused and is going to KHTFO!!!!

I seem to remember someone posted that Tua has a lingering shoulder problem that is really sapping his power.

I'm going with Tua. It's hard to bet against the guy who's been consistently near the top for most of his career, going against a guy who's been a fringe contender at best. Sure, the first one was tough, but Barrett is wildly inconsistent and hasn't looked good since the first Tua fight.
