You can't take the money with you either. Pride will leave you a better legacy and make people remember you more fondly...

What Morales is also getting at is, when we say "Yo Roy stop fighting your shot!" or "Man why is Holyfield still in the game"

Well their in the game because they make hundreds of thousands of dollars for one nights work.

Basically Terrible is saying, "Ima fight until they stop paying me".

Its on Netflix. Its just called JC Chavez.

It was Ok. I didnt really like that they didnt show alot of his fights. They only really showed bits and pieces of his fights with Oscar.

But its good though if you're a big fan, Arum talking **** about Don King per usual.

When you have a 100+ fights and you're still fighting nobodies in tiny stadiums, of course you're fighting for money. The reason you're still fighting at that point is because you blew too much money and either have too many problems, not enough work skills, or too much debt to pay it off doing anything else.

The same goes for most fighters, regardless of the number of fights he's had, that's continuing on long after their prime, struggling with or losing to guys they would have duisted without breaking a sweat in their prime. Yes, when you're still fighting at that point, you're fighting solely for the money.

When you're young, in your prime, kicking ass and taking names, you should be fighting for money AND pride, with pride coming first. You should be taking on the best you can and beating them down or schooling them because you're that much of a bigger badass than them and because you love and take pride in what you do.

Ask Morales about that, because he sure as **** already had his paycheck guaranteed going into the 12th against Manny. He did what he did because of fighting pride and warrior's instinct. He had a paycheck lined written out in his name after round 1 against Maidana, but he didn't fold and go home with his check.

    Understand the difference?

    Not the issue at hand.

Besides do you think Morales did that to Pacquiao because of pride? Or as a "**** you" to Pacquiao? It was more bravado aka SWAG, then pride.

Kinda odd coming from Morales considering how many times he risked when he didn't need to.

Probably. And it wasn't exactly the smartest move Morales ever made, but bravado or pride, it has the same source; badass mother****ery.

It wasn't because Morales would make extra dollars doing it. And that's part of why people love him.

well said if the fight was stopped at end of 1st or stool stoppage would anyone have really been shocked?

everyone would have said hes shot, retire.

only esb haters would argue that it affects his legacy overall

as far as i can remember he was expected to take a beating against Maidana

I will say that Morales case is different the CAstillo's case.

Morales tries in his fights, he's outmatched most of the time, but he tries to win.

Castillo goes out there and takes ass whipping and just shows up to collect a check.

Shannon Briggs fought for pride against Vitali and all he got was a concussion and barely enough money to buy a PS3 with 2 games.
