In the Top 5 most skilled fighters I've ever seen.

    A prestigious accomplishment, do doubt.

Definitely :good Who are the others if you don't mind me asking?

And what do you think of Ohba?

Odd onethat. Molinares looks to have been fed the worst bums possible. Lands a massive haymaker on Starling (who iassume was unprepared for a split second due to the bell and was caught unexpectedly...it's a weird one!!! Never shown any deficiencies in defence or chinbefore/after) and then goes back to fighting jokers and gets sparked
Anyone that was around at the time that can give me some perspective please? :good

I knew that would be your exact post, SPK (well, not your exact post, but the exact reply to my post) If that's not serious mind powers, then I don't know what the **** is

It's just surprising for me, seeing it. He had a great chin, Starling, took shots from everyone and kept coming, so it's wierd seeing him just laid out like that. The punch did land after the bell, and honestly Molinares should have been DQ'd, but I felt that Starling was motioning to throw a punch at the same time and was simply caught first by Molinares. The shot was huge, but lots of accumulative shots never put Marlon away or even close really, so for me at least it is strange seeing him out like that.

Ahhh makes sense. Any reason why they didn't DQ Molinares?

Starling was one tough fella alright. I dont know, a shot that you are unprepared for can have devestating effects, regardless of how good your chin is:think

Wasnt the fight initially declared a knockout win for molinares and he received the belt for a brief period of time before the decision was overturned? If the result had stuck it would have had to be one of the biggest upsets in world championship boxing:D

Maybe thats why they didnt disqualify him initially, they would have looked aright bunch of ****s awarding him the belt and then calling it a DQ later on, just an idea:conf

Robinson, Canto, Whitaker, Duran and Gavilan/Jofre would probably be it, not in any order though. Obviously guys like Napoles, Armstrong, Moore, Roman, Kingpetch, Kalule(;)) would be there too.

As I always testify though, my knowledge of past fighters is minimal, so there's probably some glaring ommisions.

Yourself? Mine's obviously a bit chaotic, but the first 4 are set in stone, then it's either/or from Jofre and Gavilan, with the others scattered around behind. Possibly even ahead on a different day.

Very little. As in I know little of him rather I don't think he's any good.

Wasn't he was what some considered to be in the mould of a Japanese Salvador Sanchez, considering his young death when he had already shown so much and would've in all likelihood done a hell of a lot more?

Took time to get going in a fight and find his comfort zone, a slow starter from the limited amount I've seen, which made his iffy whiskers often available. He was hurt early on in fights with Chionoi and some other dude(name evades me as of now) but showed his heart and ability to come back from adversity by stopping both in later rounds. Recuperative powers were obviously a strong point, then again you'd want such an important aspect in your possession when you have a dodgy jaw.

Very long and wiry with a rapier-like jab, how good do you think he could've gone on to be if he didn't have such a suspect chin?

    School me.

The first fi was a disgraceful decision and Lewis should have been given the win. Second fight was even more clear cut

Jpab: You know little of Ohba?!? You've just summed him up:lol: When he got going he was very hard to dissuade, he could go from long, sharp jab to all out Harada-esque swarm very quickly.

Your most skilled fighters is immense! Apartfrom Kingpetch, who i've always felt pretty ugly to watch (though fairly crafty, which is obviously skillful itself)

For me? Gavilan, Kalambay, McCallum, Duran and Wilfredo Gomez are the first names that come into my head :good

EDIT: :patsch Posting half-asleep is never a great idea: Substitute McCallum for Sweet Pea and that is probably my top five :thumbsup
