Kessler got some 2½M per s6 groupstage fight. How much of the TV money that went to Sauerland I dont know.

Do you think Bute would accept a fight in Denmark for 750K + Canadian tv-rights?

    Honest answer please.

At this state of the carrier, fighting Stiegliz stinks. Kessler should fight Bute next - but not i Canada.

They should have done the same thing that (Palle) did to secure the Calzaghe fight. Made a big big counter purse offer, so Bute had to accept or come up with a better offer..............

Do we know for sure that the offer that was made to Kessler was only 750k + Danish tv-rights? Nothing was said about the tv rights for other european countries. I doubt Bute would keep it all, and giving a share from that to Kessler could make a big difference in his final purse.

BTW, even if Bute wanted to accept a similar offer from Kessler to fight in Denmark, I doubt Showtime would let him.

I think Showtime thinks highly of Kessler and maybe Kessler has a clause about fighting the super six winner. One more belt - WBO - could be the reason.................

Bute makes very little with Canadian TV rights....but Kessler does make a lot with his home rights. That's why it's like that.....

No need to speculate about the legitimacy of the offer. Just assume that it was so since the source is as credible as they come.

Dont bother about Showtime. Just tell me if YOU think Bute would have accepted the offer.

In Canada, it's on PPV but practically only sales in Quebec. Figures are not relevant in size...

    It's a very small market.

In the end, Kessler probably could have made as much or more if he ever does generate well on TV from Denmark.

How many PPV tickets and at what price do you think they'd do?

What I want to know is why did we just find out that the $3 million offer to Kessler was a fake now until after Arum & Pavlik exposed it.

A break down of how it works :

Paid Gate = More or less $100 average per ticket X 18 000 paying fans for a fighter like Kessler (which is what is allowed by municipal law as an approximate max capacity for boxing). = 1.8 million to which they have to deduct about 5% they must pay to '' Quebec's Combat Sport Federation ''. They usually get between 13 000 & 15 000 paying fans for any other regular bouts.

PPV = They charge $50 per PPV purchase and get about 50% of the money generated, minus 3% of the total given to the same Quebec Combat Sport Federation. Because the price is as high as $50, they usually sell only a few thousand for ordinary fights.

Bute doesn't sell much outside Quebec and all Bute fights are free in the chain of sports restaurants belonging to the promoter all across the province of Quebec, therefore it diminishes sales....

It's all in Canadian dollars of course..... so knowing that 1 Canadian Dollar = about 5.49 Danish Krone right now I believe, you can make your own calculations...
