The big moment in the first fight was when Cotto stopped disengaging because he wanted to, as is his style, and started disengaging under pressure because he had to because Margo was getting to him.

Cottos slipped but switched up his game. Margos slipped but then has he? The Margo who fought Pac, Mosley etc is still the same. He is full speed ahead. When Margo slips he'll drop down a gear and everything that made him who he was will be shot to ****.

Its a good match up but they needed Margo to be coming off of a win. In years to come most will say Margo had Cottos number and Cotto picked him off at the right time. Arum is keepnig the Cotto money train alive and cashing in on Margo as he reaches his final days.

Should Margo **** him up like he did last time then Arum wins again!

Im of the opinion that Margarito is now a shot fighter , im also of the opinion that Cotto while past his best is still operating on a very high level .

Cotto , in a decisive fairly one sided decision 117 - 111 something like that

The Margarito that lost to Pacquiao would of beaten Cotto, the amount of punishment he took was unreal, Margarito took it and kept coming. Cotto can't dish out that type of punishment, so once again i can see Margarito just wearing Cotto down with relentless pressure.

Now Cotto is under Steward, he should jab a lot more, and if he's clever he'll work the body a lot more. It just depends how much the Pacquiao beating took outta' Margarito

Cotto might pull out a win with Steward in his corner, but it's not a sure thing..........

Unless Margarito has lost the ability to withstand Cottos punches I expect a similar result to the first fight, Tony was like The Terminator that night.

Is it just me who think there isn't too much evidence of Margarito being shot? He looked poor in his comeback fight but that was after a layoff. I didn't think he looked bad against Pacquiao although it's hard to guage as Pac is so far ahead.

Swarmers beat boxers. Acosta put in the perfect gameplan against Rios but lost. Cotto was good first time out but Marg caught up with him.

Ah styles - boxer beats puncher, puncher beats swarmer, swarmer beats boxer

Most would think of Ali beats Foreman, Foreman beats Frazier/Norton, Frazier/Norton beats Ali

It's really not a bad generalisation.

Cotto beats Mosley - boxer > puncher
Mosley beats Margarito - puncher > swarmer
Margarito beats Cotto - swarmer > boxer

Thinking of other triangles that fit.....

I'm looking for one between the 80's fab four and also Pac & the Mexicans.

None of them really fit into the roles fully though. Marquez is a boxer/puncher, Barrera is a boxer/swarmer, Morales and Pacquaio a bit of everything.

The 80's four could fit into any category.

If we are calling Mosley a puncher, this isn't a bad fit:

Forrest beats Mosley (boxer beats puncher)
Mosley beats Mayorga (puncher beats swarmer)
Mayorga beats Forrest (swarmer beats boxer)

    What about:

Leonard-Hearns (boxer beats puncher-OK Hearns is a boxer puncher but...)
    Hearns-Duran (puncher beats swarmer)
    Duran-Leonard (swarmer beats boxer)

Shane is as good a candidate as any..... 39/46.

Two of those were DLH, Collazo is a tough ******* too. 39/43 looks much better.

    ----------------------------------

    Wright beats Mosley
    Mosley beats Vargas
    Vargas beats Wright

Edit - I had Hearns as the boxer vs Leonard, who was the puncher. Your way fits though, because Duran wouldn't beat Hearns in a month of Sundays
