The first fight was ridiculous. The 2nd fight closer.

Vlad "was" drugged, actually should not have been controversial, esp. with all the proof, read the Judd letter, etc.

:yep Well, I haven't seen much of him anyways. I've only watched a couple of fights and read stuff on him here and there, and that's pretty much the opinion of him I formulated. There isn't much on him out there, so I assumed I knew the bare minimum on him.

Well, I threw the Pone-man in just to give a fighter on the opposite end of the spectrum(if you will). Each to their own I suppose, I don't particularly enjoy watching him either, but I have a kind of admiration for the way in which, despite lacking any sort of world class speed, power, reflexes, etc, he was able to get by at such a high level going by his ring IQ and the skill he owned in a technical sense.

I'd probably put a good few ahead of him, but nevertheless I do rate him for that reason, just thought I'd offer up a different type of guy.

    Nice.

There's obviously a tonne of guys that could conceivably be listed, Ezzard, Finito Lopez, B-Hop, Carlos Ortiz, El Radar Benitez(who, if he wasn't so unfortuitous to be around with the likes of Leonard and Hearns, would be held up to a much higher extent), Ike Williams, Don Curry(?), Sanchez, Joey Archer, and so on. As I say, an awful lot, depends on who I watch and when where I'd probably put them really.

I basically agree with ALL of your post.

-Indeed, not much else out there about Masao
-you seem to rate Kingpetch much as I do. One thing I've always liked about him is hos ability to work his right uppercut in: Duran-esque.
-So many great operators it is indee hard to just provide a few you admire. Charles is a guy I wax lyrical about whenever I get the chance. So many guys on that level that if we were to list all that met this lofty standard we'd probably be on here all day :) I agree wholeheartedly with all the guys you mentioned, all sublime operators (in their own way) and Tunney is another guy that leaves me awestruck when viewing him :good and Chang, of course ;-)

A statement of an absolute truth can't really be considered controversial

Yep. A fight which also sparked the greatest RBR in IB RBR history.
