    Ruddock was no Ike.

    Byrd wins by UD.

Gotta go with a Byrd UD here.

I think he'd make him look silly through parts.

Ruddock would smash Byrd. His southpaw stance would leave him open for that left. Byrd doesnt have the agresion/power of Tyson to keep Ruddock off. The onyl reason Ruddock wasnt throwing much against Tyson was because of the body shots.

Even Tyson took some monstrous shots in the there 2 fights, could Byrd take those?

Ruddock landed devastating flush nukes every round on Mike, in the rematch.

Judging by Ibeabuchi-Byrd, where Chris gets up drooling & forgetting he was just floored, i doubt he can take Razor's best bombs.

    Byrd wins via decision.

Ruddock wins early rounds due to agression but is unable to land clean shots. Byrd takes most of mid- and late rounds and the whole fight.

To those who say that Razor stops Byrd - there's such a possibility, but don't forget that both Klitsckos weren't able to KO Byrd, and they are WAY better and bigger boxers than Ruddock ever was.

I dont think also that Ruddock is better than Tua whom Byrd schooled easily (and Tua was in much better shape against Byrd than vs Lewis - he weighed 12 lbs less). Bigger - yes, better puncher or boxer - no ****ing way.

The Klitschkos aren't WAY better boxers than Ruddock as you say, but I respect your opinion.

As I recall, didn't one of the Klitschko's quit on his stool against Byrd with Larry Merchant calling out his lack of heart? If Ruddock uses his jab, sets up his right and and doesn't focus so much on the smash, I'd bet on him beating both Klitschkos and Byrd.

Who have the Klitschko's faced that brings the type of power Razor has?

Interesting point. I honestly think Ruddock' boxing skill is somewhat overrated - his defence was never that good, he rarely used jab and he could have used his right hand much more often, too. But he was always dangerous puncher, that's right.

:dealco-sign. other than having one of the most spectacular knockouts of the decade over a fade cokehead in dokes, he's best known for spirit loses (x2 to tyson, morrison) and getting blown out (lewis). also, it should be said that by the time "the smash" became prominent he started neglecting boxing and setting up the punch and became interested ONLY in the knockout. byrd would love for him to swing for the fences, and miss, all night long

I thought the majority will pick Byrd but surprise.
Anyway Ruddock could have gassed and if they ever fought , and that would have probably been the case and Byrd hurt him then Ruddock wouldn't have been so much overrated. Ruddock wasn't the only 1 2 take tyson d distance .
Byrd might have done a thunder on him .
If Byrd went d distance with tua , wladimir , golota , mccline , went 10 with puritty and made vitali punch his own shoulder out , why would ruddock catch him ? he might , but then byrd's chin was at least better than ruddock's and ruddock wasn't such a monstrous puncher or else tommy morison , david jaco and maybe even lennox lewis would have been out instead of vice versa.
Ruddock was better than gerrie cooney , i can give him that much.

heres the problem with this fight

you guys are wanting it to be prime for prime then taking a fight from byrd where he wasn't in his prime

if we're using byrd from the ike fight then i'm putting him in with the ruddock that got flattened by tommy morrison

Good point. The Ike fight was a fight I thought Byrd was on his way to winning too, until he got lazy on the ropes. After that, he proved he could last with punchers who were as good or better than Ruddock, and at times make them look pretty bad.

There's more evidence that Byrd can handle a puncher with OK skills than there is of Ruddock being able to handle a slick southpaw.

Ruddock had decent skills and was very strong.....I like Byrd in this one, because he was more skilled and more smart....
    That is a poor statement, I know.....haha
