    to spar with me in 10z sparring gloves?

    Before you immediately say "no", please take into consideration that I am
    • Only 5"3 and a bit (around 162cm)
    • The only girl in my gym- the person closest to me in height still has a good two inches (around 5cm) advantage on me, not to mention the fact he cross trains in muay thai
    • The person with the smallest amount of experience- this is my fourth week, meaning that I am at least five weeks behind their next newest student
    • Only going to spar with other people if we both wear headgear and mouthguards (its standard protocol/regulations of my boxing gym anyways)
    ....would you? Thank you!

    P.S. I ask because I accidently bought a pair of them without actually knowing that I wasn't meant to get that kind of weight! Most of the people I have talked to and the information on websites tells me that most people use 16oz....mehhhhh

    Yes. There are guys in my gym who always wear 10oz to sparr me.

    Most people use 16s.
    I used to almost exclusively use 10s.
    For a while my old gym went down to MMA gloves ~4oz
    I've sparred bare knuckle with a few select people who I know have great control.

    Because it was "real" man, like on the "street"....

    I don't train there anymore. They went all 'street self-defence' and ****, which is not particularly what I'm interested in.

    They spar outside the gym now, in the carpark. Because it's more real.

    I actually sparred a girl before. No idea what size gloves she had on though, but I didn't know if I should hit her or not :blood

    So I just jabbed her stomach the whole time :lol::patsch

    10 oz is heavy enough for a woman as light and tall as you.

    10 oz competition gloves are fine for sparring. doesn't matter if you are male or female.

    Just bust her up with the jab (without breaking her neck) and show her the boxing version of off the ball.

    I don't know if I would want to get hit by 10oz gloves daily for sparring.
