Dmitry Pirog and Peter Quillin (along with Glen Johnson) in the running for Bute.

So you disagree on the simple fact that Dirrell would make for a FAR MORE VIABLE option at 168lbs for Bute?

I mean, he's a decorated top SMW, whereas both Pirog and Quillin are actual MWs.

Even bringing Martinez would not be relevant since he's a blown-up 154 pounder, Bute fights at around 185 come fight night...

Golovkin was a tough amateur and gave everyone hell, including the likes of Dirrell and Korobov amongst others.

He beat Lucian Bute the **** up in the amateurs.

 

Dirrell for Bute would be great; but his credibility is a BIG issue; how can Showtime hype him when he pulled out of one of the most expected fights in super six and when HBO blackballed him after Stevens? Can you expect Showtime to stand by Dirrell instead Glen Johnson, a guy that came down in weight and provided: a distruction of a young&hyped Green and a war against Froch?
It stands to reason why Dirrell isn't YET a factor for a novemeber fight with Bute; we don't even know if his brain injury has healed yet

 

I guess that they did not evolve the same way now, did they!! Golovkin don't have any credibility at 168 for Showtime, I would like him to face Bute if he shows anything credible at SMW, just to keep all my European friends happy!!!

 

Voted for Johnson, since he's the real SMW here.

Would have liked to have seen them entertain Bute/Dirrell.

 

Quillin has been targeting Sergio and should continue with that plan. This has got to be Johnson's fight.

 

1. Dirrell was scheduled and signed to fight Demers so it appears he's a confirmed, licensed boxer again.

2. They mention middleweights, one middleweight in particular who has no experience on championship level, let alone anywhere near it at 168lbs.


So, given all that, why would they mention Quillin and Pirog but not Dirrell, it just makes no sense at all. Glencoffe Johnson is an excellent fight because he's proven himself on the level, Quillin/Pirog have not. Pirog is a MW, as is the case with Quillin.

Fact remains, Bute and his team have not once uttered Andre Dirrells name.

 

There is nothing that suggests Bute would rid of Golovkin in one round, seeing as Golovkin not only went rounds with Bute in the amateurs, but stopped him with a single punch.

Golovkin has the WBA middleweight title and has established himself, Quillin on the other hand has NO CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE and not once fought above 165lbs, yet he's being mentioned amongst possible opponents for Bute.

So why aren't you making any mention of them calling a middleweight out who has no experience on championship level, when they're blatantly leaving out guys like Golovkin and Dirrell who have experience.

 

I guess they would like to avoid another guy pulling away from the dangerous left uppercut...and Dirrell is that kind of guy!

 

You support them mentioning Quillin but not Dirrell and Golovkin who have championship experience (Dirrell at 168lbs).

At least your point shows that even if the only life you have is on ESB, you can't be aware of everything smart ass, just check what fight Quillin had in April....and he's ranked 8th all around SMW by Boxrec and not anymore a MW.....:deal
