That is just opinion as it was never proven. When Margarito was a beast and still young able to dehydrate without much consequences coming in heavy VS his opponents to gain a huge advantage, he could have been legit there. I mean that's a Super Middle weight dehydrating to WW so imagine the consequences his body had later down the road because of it.

Only when he started having bad camps because he was getting older and his body couldn't handle the dehydrating the trainer put the plasters. That is just an opinon the only fact is he had a bad training with mosely so the Trainer wanted to even the playing field as he felt Margo was not at 100%...


Cotto could have been or not been a legit win no one will ever know.. Margo was at the time a Super Middle weight in with a WW cotto, with a granite chin, and a huge size advantage... Segura Calderon comes to mind... When they are young they can cut weight without much consequences..

But who knows... that is just IMO of course Rican will say cheat without any facts...the kneel before another man and excuses are installed in you so no worries..

 

Well dude, you know I value your posts.... and I know Margarito was good with or without handwraps.. BUT I personally just believe the Cotto from that time frame was the second best fighter Marg went in the ring with, he's good but to deal with a Cotto who had a jab, could box-punch, mix-up, jab and stick.... man, handwraps would be the only way to slow down that train.. but as I said, my opinion, to value for opinion

Wrong, you slow the train down by applying huge amounts of pressure, fight at a high pace, and being in top condition to do so. Landing good body shots would get your opponent to slow down as well. Did you see all the shots Margo took just to get one nicely placed body shot?
Does having plaster in your gloves give you an edge when it come to taking punishment the way Margo did?

I was the only Mexican rooting for Tito were I was at by the way, Vargas was a punk in my book.

 

Fight was even going into the 10th round. Had vargas had his legs under him and not taken away (from the biggest puncher at WW since Hearns) by those low blows, who knows what the outcome would have been.

Cotto was in there with Torres, Bailey, Mosley, Judah, Maussa, N Dou, Quitana, chop Chop.. so many fighters tried every technique... some seemed to work but Cotto was still UNDEFEATED nonethless.... as i said, handwraps slowed him down and he hasn't been the same ever since... put Clottey in with that Cotto and we wouldn't even be saying Clottey got robbed... we'd be saying he was ko'd in the 9th...... Marg was beat by Williams and exposed by Pacman and Mosley, its quite obvious his "top condition" really has never served him justice... neither has his high pace.... the only thing that helped him was ............

I'm not a Rican or a Mexican, but I hope Cotto beat the living **** out of Marg cheating ass. Since he lost his secret weapon the Mexican has not been himself. On fight night we will see if his win was from heart and will or plaster.

 

you puerto ***s are stupid as hell. one of your best fighters used to load his gloves too. im talking about trinidad. isnt luis resto puerto rican too? that hardened gauze margarito used is nothing compared to that. i have a lot of respect for cotto, but margarito is too strong for him. his stamina is out of this world.
