It says over at B-scene that 4 guys were being considered as his next opponent; Dirrell, Pirog, Johnson and Quillen. Quillen has said that "160 is my weight" and he's not interested but Johnson, un-surprisingly, is willing to fight.

Considering that Froch and Ward are unavailable and negotiations with Kessler broke down, I think Dirrell, Johnson or even Pirog would be very good opponents.

There's no way Bute should be rated #1 at 168 though - I have Froch there and you could argue Ward over Bute too.

 

Who's idea was it to have his last fight in Romania? It was Bute's! The guy is a fraud, afraid to step outside his comfort zone and fight someone with a pulse.

 

Johnson can take Bute to deep waters.

Johnson would be a decent fight, as always Glen will give him a working over.

So you give him **** for fighting Mendy, rightly so..... and now he's having to look at the middleweight division for a credible opponent, as all the others are tied up.

What would you rather him do, fight a bum at 168 or fight a high quality middle that's willing to move up to 168?
