Mc Donagh is in a box off for the euro championship so he wont be entering.**** sake will this lad ever just get picked to box for his country without having to box off over and over again.

PS fair fukcs Cronan,I wonder has he aphoto in a pair of his old trousers like they all do.

I think the only reason Mcdonagh has to box off for the european juniors squad is because Keane McMahon actually won the Irish juniors. So this time the shoe is on the other foot; people could argue that Mcmahon should have the 60kg spot without a box-off. It's not his fault that McDonagh didn't enter the irish juniors (it's not how I feel, but just saying what mcmahons club could argue).
If you think about it, the iaba might be taking this step so that in future they could force another box-off on mcdonagh when it comes to senior internatinals- by saying "look, we gave u a chance with a box off for the euro juniors that time"

this is all bollix a senior champion doesnt have to box -off for a junior international spot i was in the situation before being the junior boxer! also the only reason there is a junior box-off is because Dom wants chris joyce to box-off against michael o reilly (even though reilly won convincingly this year already), so he is setting a fixed amount of boxed offs so it doesnt look like it is all set up for Athy! same **** different year

When is the box offs on? It seems a bit harsh on Ward and Moylette after they both won gold at the Europeans. You would of thought they would of been garanteed a place at the Worlds and chance for them to win a slot in the Olympics. I dont mind box offs in the other the weights for the last quailifers for the Olympics after the Worlds as the talent is there a lot of the fighters in the team must feel that they have a great chance of getting to the Olympics in London next year.

I dont think Ward should box off but Moylette should imo. Fair enough he won the Euros but he didnt win the nationals so Id agree with box offs at light welter

Ya obviously mcdonagh should be the first option but someone was askin why he has to box-off and i said its cos keane mcmahon is irish junior champion. His club could argue that he deserves a box-off at very least against mcdonagh, he is after all the irish junior champion.

who was the senior boxer chosen over you that time when u were junior champion? DOJ or donovan or someone?
