Floyd Mayweather Jr(24yrs) vs Amir Khan(present age 24yrs) who has the best resume

If all you were trying to say is that Khan has done well for his age, then why not just say "Khan has done well for his age" as opposed to making an off base comparison? I like Khan fine, and I think he's a fine young fighter, but PBF he's not.

 

Darni, just admit that you’re not fully aware of Floyd’s past achievements, and that you just incorrectly assumed Khan’s current resume is better than what Floyd’s was at 24. No shame in that.

 

He only mentioned what he knew....the thing is most Khanatics have only been following the sport for a very short period.

The fact is their records are not even close and even the performances haven't been of a similar level.

Khan is a good fighter who may develop into a very good fighter but Mayweather is a great fighter.

I admit I am not fully aware of Floyds early achievements, but the aim of this comparison was to make aware that Khan is not that far behind Floyd, and I stand by that considering he lost a KO in under a min, the recovery was great, plus Khan now fights away from home from a young age something Floyd never done.

 

The question is was Floyd a great by 24yrs of age?

Khan can also turn out to be great, so what's your point?

 

Sometimes a loss is better than a win, Khan is living proof of this...

I'm more of a Bradley fan but have Khan at #1 at JWW and he has a good of chance as any to become a great fighter and make a real impact on the sport.

Taking out the Maidana/Guerrero winner in December (or at least the Morales/Matthysse winner) and moving up to 147 and taking out someone like Berto before fighting Mayweather late 2012 is the path for Khan to continue the path that he is currently on.

If he does that and wins or comes damn close to it, you will not have to make these threads as Khan will have proven that he is the **** like Mayweather, Pac, Jones, BHop and the other great fighters of this generation before him achieved.

Something tells me though that if Khan takes the test, he will fold like the rest (sorry couldn't resist :!

 

I was speaking there in the context of the first few posters were saying Chicanito win owns anything on Khan's record, and I was saying but Khan has more decent wins (in volume, number of wins)

 

Money all day long! Plus by the time was that Money was 17, he had already sparred with guys like Pernell, Freddie Pendleton, Uncle Roger and Frankie Randall soe Money was way ahead of the learning curve, unlke Amir.

Yep I agree also, and make no mistake Khan will take the hard fights and try his best that's the way he is, I wish him the best in his quest to reach the top.

But see again you are incorrect, it is THAT far, they aren't close at this age, period. I don't know what Khan may or may not accomplish, and it's no disrespect to him as a fighter, but as of this point he's not on PBF's level and it's really not close.

 

Please explain? How is he "better" from being sparked out in under a minute? I agree he's recovered and got his career back on track, but what was gained from that experience, that's so valuable?
