    Good point tommy. I genuinely think moylette may not win the box-offs. it's gonna be interesting...

    I agree with this. I understand the logic behind the box offs and I'm sure it'll be a great nights boxing but Puca is bang on the money here.

    If box offs are scrapped after this year and everyone is aware that winning the seniors is the route to qualification then no one can have any complaints. Imagine a scenario where a team wins the FAI cup but can't go to Europe because they have to have a play off against a very good Irish team they already beat.

    I see they've made a film/ documentary about James Quinn McDonagh;

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/theticket/2011/0805/1224301838230.html

    Quinn has been recorded as saying he hopes something good comes out of the film and that it brings healing and ends the feud between the Quinn McDonaghs and the Joyces. How in the name of God does he think that making a film that glorifies his bare knuckle career will encourage peace..?

    I don't. The champions got to get to the Euros, after that it's right they are assessed on form. Now we didn't need box-offs in every weight but it's not good building up your strength - and having 30-40 top-class boxers - if they are not going to get a look in all year again after the seniors end in February.
    McDonagh is a lovely boxer and has been hard done by. But he has lost four out of four internationals or something like that and at his age they're right to get him into the Youths, and let more proven international class boxers into the seniors.

    I see Lukekiko has entered - good luck! To be honest I can't really see this open tournament making a blind bit of difference, but all the same I hope Keeler does well for the hounds on ESB.

    The IABA are not going to make this easy for them are they? Saying they'll punish a no-show at the Open Championship thing by letting the winners go, no matter what. Now with so many lads 'injured' that would cause ructions. See what I mean BK99 that speculation is pointless!!! None of them know their arse from their elbows in this, it's 'Olympic fever' - causes madness in amateur boxing.
