but Floyd started his career at 130 and at the time was smaller than Mitchell and wasn't a real welterweight himself.
You try to discredit Floyd for not fighting real welterweights, but he was never a real welterweight himself until now

    Nichilino Lochhe
    Pernell Witaker or
    Manny Pacquiao?

I see counterpunching as capatalizing on your opponent's mistakes and opening they make when punching. Pernell was way better at that then Manny. It seems you just judge based off of power. The best counterpuncher to me is the guy that can counter every punch and do it over and over. Not the guy who can only counter a few punches every now and then, but knocks the guy out with the counter

Watch just one round of this fight and see how Pernell just counters him over and over again.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yJhZS8Sg1k&feature=related[/ame]

He parries his jab and throws one back
He pulls back and throws a left cross over his jab
He slips his left cross and comes with a right hook to the body
Moves out the way of the left hook and counters with a double jab
slips to the outside of his jab and throws a jab to his stomach back
catches a right hook to the body and throws a left hook back

I got all of this from 1 round and there where more counters that I missed, but they were mixed in with combos, so I didn't catch them all

And with all of that how many guys did he knock out? He was a very good counter puncher but his lack of power will keep him from being great in my book.

See that doesn't matter when it comes to counter punching.

Do you box? If you have, have you ever sparred a guy who constantly counters whenever you whenever you punch. Who would make you weary to throw back.
Maybe he didn't even have the best power, but he just always countered you back.
That imo is a good counterpuncher.

You're saying the guy who may block a few punches with his gloves and may eat a bunch of punches who finally counters you after the 50th punch you throw, but knocks you out with that one counter, is better than the other guy.
