These guys cant even do comparisons They keep judging these guys on their losses AFTER the year the T.S mentions, and the T.S clearly gives year he wants fans to judge these fighters.
Tyson forgot more than Tua ever learnt. Tyson KOD Holmes and probably would regardless of when they met. Also didnt that old Larry Holmes school Mercer? The same Mercer, Lewis went life and death with?
Tyson had already been stopped twice before he fought Lewis and was no near as good as he used to be. The young Tyson would have knocked Lewis out with fast, accurate punches in more spectacular fashion than McCall and Rahman did. Holmes is in 2nd place for me and he was IMO an underrated and very skilful heavyweight champion. That is not to be derogatory towards Lewis because he was a good champion, but he should never have got beaten by McCall and Rahman in their first fights. Those losses for me, make him a grade below the very best champions in the history of the heavyweight division.
expect lewis.....because lewis never fought a prime big name unlesss they were shells of themselves.....
I did read the OP and I stand by what I wrote. Tyson was already damaged goods when they fought and was later was beaten by Danny Williams and Kevin McBride which shows how badly he declined in his career. Lewis struggled against Evander Holyfield in two fights and many people thought that Holyfield deserved the decision in their 2nd fight. Holyfield had already boxed his trilogy with Riddick Bowe by that time and also had a loss against Michael Moorer. Holyfield was already a battle worn veteran when he fought Lewis. Lewis fought some top-tier heavyweights, but they were way past their prime when it happened. I'm not saying Lewis wasn't a good heavyweight champion, just that he is way overrated. 1 Tyson 2 Holmes 3 Lewis.
This question is about Lewis 2000, when did he fight McCall and Rahman? Who was his trainer for the McCall fight? How many weeks did he train for the Rahman fight? (a fight at an altitude of 5,500 ft if you didn't know). Your break down of strengths and weaknesses is some of the poorest **** I've read on here. Hell you said Lewis's style was "PERFECT" for Tyson:rofl That's some dumb **** right there.
Tyson struggled to get to Smith, Biggs etc..Lewis would have lead Tyson round the ring like like bull Wearing a nose ring. Every time Tyson tried to rush in Lewis would have the punch variation and power to halt him in his tracks leading to another biting of ears incident. Lewis by brutal incessant points victory
