would of loved to have seen calzaghe v ward

jesus christ, these boards are the only place calzaghe can get credit for hiding is whole career at 168 and only stepped in the ring with two greats when they were old but ward is criticized for entering the super six and going through undefeated after he beats froch. calzaghe would have never got into something like the super 6 early in his career if ever. ward is superior to calzaghe already and he's very early in his career. may not be the most exciting to watch but he's very good and very effective. joe wouldn't dare step in the ring with a prime ward. that was his style.

 

Ward's management DEMANDED hometown advantage through the tourney.. Otherwise they wouldnt compete...
But anyway..
This have absolutely nothing to do with a H2H matchup. Calzaghe has serveal good wins at 168: Reid, Eubank, Kessler, Lacy, Veit etc btw..
But again, resume, and how Calzaghes and Wards careers are guided has nothing to with who is going to win.

 

Joe, in his prime would have been way too much for anything we have seen from Ward as of yet.

Ward hasnt really yet proved himself much more than Americas last 2 best SMWs Lacy and Mitchell.
Many will jump at that but if you were around when Mitchell was active you will know, oh and they both lost to Calzaghe

Calzaghe would take Ward to school, no disrespect to Ward, but i just don't see how Ward could adapt to Joe's style, he could adapt, but he would lose anyway. So unless it is in Jokeland, i don't give Ward a chance

 

As Hopkins found out, all you need do to prepare for fighting Calzaghe is to think out of the box and employ female sparring partners.
