Your saying JWW is much stronger than SMW?? Really?? For me they are on a par but i give the edge to Super middle as it has more proven guys. Kessler, Abraham, Froch etc. whereas JWW has lots of young lions (khan, bradley, maidana etc.) some of whom have looked not so great recently maidana/morales perfect example.
Carl Froch has beaten a better level of opposition than Amir Khan has , that for me makes Froch GB's P4P #1 not Khan !!! The manner of who Khan and Froch have beaten along the way is incidental , the facts are , that Froch has a better resume period , at least as it stands today . Cleverly is world class , what pletherer of world class Cleverly is , is still unknown , the Bellew fight has to happen , after them press conferences and whats been said between them plus the 2 years of build up it just has to happen , people spouting out 1 liners about this fight are being narrow minded and pretty stupid . Cleverly may or may not get dragged into the trenches by Bellew but he certainly will by the feild of 175 lb'ers out there in the world right now !!! He's a bright lad , he'll know that Froch will get hold of this , and he'll also that one day he will fight Froch , so why not start the trash talk now !!! Cleverly is ambitious , and as a bright young star of British boxing he shouldnt be critisised for statements like this ............... , he should be supported
Top 5 then yeah they're about on par, top 10 then I'd have to go with LWW. One way I see Khan being number 1 is because; I see Bradley and Ward p4p at about the same level. And I see Khan on equal terms with Bradley and so do a lot of other people. Wheras for Froch, it's quite obvious most people put Ward ahead of Froch,
I actually think he'd beat Cloud comprehensively and i think he's to fresh right now for Johnson , id have him giving Pascal alot of bother , and id see him as a live underdog in with Hopkins or Dawson Then come the SMW's coming up like Ward , Froch , Bute , all great fights for Nathan down the line You make it sound like he's a lamb to the slaughter , i really dont see it that way
I dont agree with that statement , Alexander is not the fighter the general boxing public beleived he is / was going to be , thats a big blow to that division , he's also now headed to 47 , Bradley is knee deep in the **** with contractual / promoter problems , he's out for a while too You have Erik Morales and Robert Guerrero coming up to fight two of the more established fighters in the division , both former FW's (no critisim of RG BTW just staing an observation) and Morales is shot :deal , against two fighters highly regarded @140 but P4P wouldnt get a look in @168 :deal Zab Judah was just bladdered in a fight which on paper should of been competetive , and you have the (in some people's minds) number 1 fighter in that division looking at Erik Morales as his next potential opponent . I think 140 just took a bit of a nose dive of late (last 6 months) !!! , and 168 is eternally strong for the for see'able , then you have Pavlik , Martinez and Pirog all looking for fights up there too , i really dont think the divisions compare right now Just my opinion
Froch is the man in Britain and has been for a while now! His run of opponents is frightening it really is!
Pascal,Taylor,Dirrell,Kessler,Abraham and Johnson is the best run of opponents 1 after another that I've personally EVER seen! Can anyone name someone who has had 6 fights that tough on the bounce??
**** WBA super titles, it's no better than a WBC title. The IBF at LWW is a paper title since Alexander was stripped.
Great post. The morales/maidana fight and alexanders fights with kotelnik and matthysse show that perphaps the top guys arent as good as we thought before. My arguement is about the idea the JWW is MUCH stronger than SMW. I think super middle but i can understand arguements for JWW and i would never say there was a chasm of difference in depth. Furthermore, Khan has beaten a much smaller range of styles whilst Froch has beaten very different style fighters, not taking anything away from Khan who im a fan of.
Amir Khan is the 4th biggest fighter in this country since Prince Naseem Hamed and Ricky Hatton, Frank Bruno.
