ODLH-Ike was close, I dont think a SD either way is a robbery.
VK was up 58-56 on all three cards thats 4-2 in rounds, I dont particularly have a problem with that.

I remember Marley commentating on a fight with Darke and them disagreeing on rounds, yet somehow at the end Marley's bizarre card of (something like) 113-112 (in a fairly one-sided fight) was matched by Darke's with the same score.

hmmm as a qualified statistician i find it hard to put much stock in a sample of 10 people but still the results of an 80% swing are definitley interesting. did this not prompt further research into a bigger sample size?

Thats a myth you can clearly see in the some replays the sweat bounce off Haglers head, and Leonard used alot off movement but in the middle rounds in which Hagler came on strong and won most of them Ray laid on ropes and took a lot off punishment but was fighting back constantly, it was a great fight that could of gone either way.

I don't know, I wasn't greatly interested in seeing what 35 people would make of it. The initial point was enough to demonstrate that many people are convinced by what they hear* despite witnessing a one-sided fight.

    * you come across a bit like this actually.

More laugh at loud at Darke's bias...same with Minter (who was co-commentating). I was rooting for Mike but the fight was thisclose and I had no problem with the draw, although I though Toney won. Darke's commentary spoilt it for me.

Was it Minter? I thought it was McGuigan.

I agree, it was a very close fight. I'd have no problem with Toney winning it, even if I've had Mike winning by 1 point both times I've scored it. A draw seemed very reasonable to me, since many rounds were hard to score.

They had a very narrow win for Mike as well if I remember correctly. But, yeah, they were a bit on his dick. I reckoned it had to with him coming over to fight Watson and Graham in their own backyard. Darke clearly was a big fan of McCallum, and it was clear from his commentating. I do think they gave Toney a fair amount of due too, though.

Nah, I think I'm smart enough to not be swayed. What makes influence usually significant and effective as when you don't realize you're be influenced by commentating. I realize the commentators are potentially trying to sway me, so I try not to focus on their opinions. At least never wholeheartedly. It's almost something Popkins talked about. He never understood why judges would be affected by blood. Lampley always said it could sway judges. But that shouldn't.

Maybe I'm wrong, though. My cards are rarely ever too controversial, though.

    Toney - Griffin I

    Toney: 9 10 10 9 10 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 117
    Griffin: 10 9 9 10 9 9 10 9 10 9 9 9 112

I had 9th round even because i thought griffin was landing a bit more throughout but there were 2 good counter rights by toney. especially the 1st one.

In the 7th i just gave it to griffin because of that whole thing with toney falling onto the ropes, possibly saving him from going down. I thought he was more off balance but the ref could have called it a knockdown. could have been a toney round.

The 3rd was a possible 10-8 for toney because he hurt griffin with a counter right that he almost went down from. from the replays of it he might have touched the canvas with his glove anyway. I just scored it a 10-9 for toney though.

Ten people isn't enough for anything, I could find ten left handed serial killers throughout history, no correlation would be determined. It's misuse of stats like this that led to the fabricated myth of the mmr-autism link.

No I don't have sound on my monitor since my speakers blew a year or so back and I never replaced them. Consequently I rarely have commentary on when I sit down to score a fight.
