If Ali had been more of a puncher who sat on his shots more, didnt dance and went for the KO rather than carry guys how do you see his career going

I mean he had quick reflexes to dodge shots and had fast hands and could have been a more devestating KO artist

how would his career have went, who would he have beat who would he have lost to

would he have the same sort of success

Ali's more cautious way to look for the stoppage served him pretty well, I'd say. He rarely was so aggressive that he was countered or punched himself out. Had Archie somehow managed to develop Ali into having true one punch KO power, that would of course been a great asset. I mean, imagine if he managed to stop Frazier during the early rounds of FOTC, when he was almost hitting him at will, and also stopped Norton. His record would be close to untarnished.

Its hard to say for sure. I'm inclined to think that tinkering around with his approach would be to meddle with a unique perfection.

Ali had trouble with his hands. They weren't sturdy enough to withstand repeated hard impacts. That's part of why he went with a process of getting his opponents to expend themselves a bit first, so when he did load up to kill, he could make his shots count. Still, while he was a respectable puncher, comments by Chuvalo and others indicated he never could have developed the kind of power necessary for Moore's approach to be successful with him.

Muhammad rarely teed off on the body, but when he did, Bugner, Blue Lewis, Cleveland Williams and Terrell didn't seem particularly affected by his body shots. They scored points, and were a good diversion, but Blue Lewis was the only match where he might have taken the decision on body punching alone. (One day, I might perform a punch stat calculation of Muhammad's body punching on Lewis against Blue's overall scoring rate to see if Ali might indeed have been ahead after ten on the strength of body punching alone. His left downstairs was pumping with startling consistency, and he was slipping under Lewis well in an atypical forward attack. The man could go under and in quite efficiently on the front foot when the situation called for it.) Of course with the body being softer than the head, somebody with Ali's hand speed could unload full force on an exposed torso.

Holmes, on the other hand, doubled over Ali and Carl Williams, and separated Poirier's rib cartilage with a deadly right uppercut to the heart.

The only reason, Ali lost to Frazier in their first fight was the 3 year ban.

The second fight showed what would have happened if not for the ban.
People ignore the 2nd fight, because it has a trace of the first incarnation of Ali, and it wasn't close.

Indeed in 2 Rd, the ref decided to stop the Rd with a minute left, when Ali had Joe in big trouble.

Did you actually watch the whole 12 rounds of that fight, or just the highlights ?, Ali was negative and did'nt much in the rounds except a few flurries where as Frazier constiently landing his left hook, I remember watching last christmas casually so I did'nt score it but I thought Frazier won, I'll have to score it next time to see.

it one of Ali's worst performence's

    Go back to sleep.

I saw all Ali's fights live, and numerous times since. Not everyone here is 20 and on crack or alcohol. Your opinion is far off the facts. Must be an Ali hater or smoking some bad sh*t.

Your own statment indicates you can only take in a few seconds at a time and need towatch the "full fight".

If you could read and comprehend, I wrote that I did many times, including live. Everyone there knew who won easily, including Ali getting robbed of a KO by either a corrupt or incompetent Ref.

Ali sued Perez. But the "Justice System"...suit was tossed.

But everyone from day one knew Ali won 2nd fight easily.

Wake up and go back to sleep is all I can say for someone who could actually write that this was one of Ali's worst performances!

Look how many punches Ali's missing he is also holding and spoiling while Frazier is landed solid body shot and left hooks to the head he isn't getting credit for.

Ali's is being negative and it is one of his worst performances if you watch .

Joe had a few moments; never said it was a shutout. Ali needed his rests. But it wasn' close, and posting a few minutes is meaningless. The whole fight tells the tale.
Few in boxing share your opinion.
