listen if a fat 45 yr old comes back and wins a title then the division sucks ass..regardless of how you want to word it..
LOL, i am glad you pointed out this double talk because I was about to. To add to your point Big George is one the herdest punchers of all time. Its more likely that someone in their mid-40s with massive power could KO a younger man than he should be able to out box them. Power is the last thing to go.
If you are Kazakh WBA champion, people say only paper champion but if American Ring People Magazine Champion from America people say you are slick oldest ever true champion make me think unmitigate reminiscence maybe. :-(
listen if that makes u feel better than fine...ive already explained to you my thoughts on valuev..and if im not mistaken what does it say beside holyfield vs valuev in the books???anyway foreman came back and won a belt against a decent champion in the era so like i said..if a fat old man can come back and win a title then the era sucks...did foreman not defend it against top 10 guys back then??when did valuev ever fight a top 10 guy??and did holyfield retire get fat then come back??nope...gd day sir..by the way yeboah was ****ing shite
you are correct sir..americans and idiots who keep going on about how gd boxers where back in the day...how about **** off i say to them...
there is no way at this point that lennox is beating wlad or vitali but several years ago vs ruiz or valuev he could have easily won, im happy lennox never came back his record and reputation is great no need to mess it up.
Why would it make me feel better? I just don't want you looking silly by contradicting yourself. Moorer was not in the top 5 of the 90's. No foreman disappeared into obscurity. Basically if you are saying that an old man winning a title makes a division **** then you have to say today's division is ****. Yeboah's volley against liverpool was amazing.
I think Holy fought a great fight against Valuev. He stayed right up against Valuev the entire night, never allowing the beast to get a clean straight shot on him. All the while, Evander threw shots on the inside clearly (IMO) outpointing the giant. The ringside judges didn't agree. They saw Holy's punches as ineffective and thought that Valuev did enough on the outside to earn the decision. I disagree, as do most, but it what it is. Foreman was heading for a wide UD loss to Moorer. Moorer was easily outpointing Big George, even hurting him from time to time. It ended in dramatic fashion. Had Holy done the same thing to Valuev we wouldnt' be having this conversation I suppose. As for comparisons to the level of talent......Cmon. Look at the 4 major titles, and count the # of champions holding the 4 major belts through the 90s. Then count the same # from 2000-2011. It is clear that the total Klitschko domination is far superior to the pass-a-strap era of the 90s. If Wlad and Vitali were never born, there would be 20 different Hw titlists holding there major titles, just like there was in the 90s.:-(
i don't understand this "it is what it is" mentality. anyone watching the fight can see holyfield deserved to beat valuev. in the 90's, between bowe throwing his belt away and foreman going into onscurity the picture got a bit murky. but once tyson came out of prison it wasn't so murky any more, he blasted his way to the top and was clearly number 1. as was holyfield when he beat him, as was lewis when he beat him. so 93-95 maybe it got messy, but by and large it's quite clear douglas->holyfiled->bowe......tyson->holyfield->lewis. int the 2000's it could be argued it went lewis-rahman-lewis...vitali...byrd->wladimir just as much "strap passing" as you put it. Not to mention Lewis completely unified all the claims, including a win over Akinwande who was the wbo champ. to declare this era far superior is crazy imo. wlad will most likely overtake the heavies back then, but the talent pool just isn't as deep. bowe and vitali have similar-ish resumes. bowe is considered to have a **** weak resume in comparison to the 90's, vitali is considered to have the second strongest resume today.
whats your fav..the volley against liverpool or the thunderbolt against wimbledon??well i said a fat old man makeing a comeback makes the division shite..which is still my stance..1st of all holyfield isnt fat..he didnt retire and most importantly he didnt win...and like i said valuev was givin a title just because he was a huge *****
change my mind every time on that one! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfLz-WgbqY8[/ame] holyfield didn't retire but he had his lecence revoked due to his skills declining too rapidly. ofcourse he beat valuev, watch the fight, blatant robbery.
listen you dont have to tell me holy was robbed..so was larry donald..dosnt change the fact valuev was givin the title..moorer wasnt..foreman was being schooled and won..the 80s and 90s sucked..just because it had a few guys who had great fights with each other they where considered good fighters..if our top contenders fought each other as they did back then..then we wouldnt be calling this era shite..we also wouldnt be saying the k bros beat bums..challangers would actually earn there shots then lose to wlad or vitali then ppl cudnt deny they actually beat the best...you prob have to go with the liverpool volley just because of my hate for liverpool and the fact it was way more difficult to have something like that come off
