As we all know Vitali is potentially going to pull out of the Sept showdown with Tomasz Adamek in order to be in assistance to his friend who has been recently arrested for abuse of power charge in Ukraine. While most of us agree that the woman should be released, NONE of us know the exact details of the case, however, we ALL know the abuses that are common in global politics. IMO Vitali should appeal to the global public, sports fans in particular, petitioning for her pretrial release, and for a FAIR trial. We only know one person here who knows Vitali Klitschko personally. CHEF. But we also know that CHEF has a fine job with the K2 and should probably mind his affairs IRT Vitali's personal life. No offense CHEF, we'd mostly rather see you employed than fired for meddling.:good How about ESPN boxing writer Dan Rafeal. He has some pull on ESPN, and could potentially reason with both Vitali and the the American sports public. Vitali could get interviewed on ESPN and FSN using his title of HWCotW as a platform to bring global attention to his friends plight. Just saying......His TITLE as WBC HWC is far more well known than his political exploits. Please Vitali, use some cognitive thinking here. Orange trunks, orange robe, and several prefight interviews on global sports networks would do far more to aid her defense than simply boycotting your own title defense. Adamek deserves it. Your fans deserve it. And your country deserves it. For the Ukraine, and for the ORANGE revolution......MAKE THE FIGHT!
what the **** is boxing next to political freedom? nothing. postponing the fight to stay at home and protest is more powerful imo, because there is self-sacrifice..
Some people considered ALI a ***** for not going to Vietnam. SOME considered him a HERO. Think about it like that. When did Clay retire? 67! When the race revolution begin? 68! He was ALL over American tv's in late 67, and in 68, things began to change in America. That's all I'm saying is that Vitali should use ALIs example. except there is NO whitey trying to censor him. Speak up Vitali, but use the stage where your'e voice will be best heard.:good
Ali? Slightly different case. He was legally prevented from boxing. We're talking about a possible scenario where VK is actually choosing not to fight. Also Ali's reasons were religious ones. That's a bigger issue than anything political if you believe in that sort of hocum.
