IMO if you're supposed to be one of the top SMW in the world you should be stopping any 40 odd year old in your weight class.
Also i don't think people should get extra credit for a KO. a win is a win, it's more the performance & result you get credit for.

So Froch isn't a top SMW since he didn't stop Jonhson?

He wouldn't & shouldn't be asking for more credit if he KO'd him. I'm not saying you're not a top SMW if you don't stop him I'm saying it's to be expected & you shouldn't want extra credit.

Bute should beat the old work horse. Whether on ko or ud doesn't matter.

Beating Johnson proves about the same as beating bika does. So nothing new for bute because people expect bute to be able to beat fighters at that level.

Same goes for Froch etc. The johnson win did nothing for frochs resume - the fight was important for Froch because it became the way to the SS final, but in terms of resume it was ofcourse not an elite win.

It's pretty clear here that you don't think Frock is a top SMW

I've already clarified what I meant

    Ignore it if you want.
Also Froch is elite because he's fought & beat top guys (something Bute hasn't really done yet).

A KO win is part of the performance However you can look bad & still get a KO win (Froch - Taylor). If Johnson schools Bute for 12 rounds but Bute scores a late lucky KO Bute won't get much credit.

That being said I do consider Bute & Froch elite SMW's and would favour Bute if they fought. I wouldn't be surprised if Bute did KO Johnson but i won't give him any special credit for it. It's what he's supposed to do.
Does Pascal get any special credit for KDing & getting a draw against Hopkins?
