Demarco might not be a world beater but i think hed give Gatti a tough fight (at LW).. Where as Valero dominated him. and Mosquera was a good fighter about on par with Robinson, who beat Gatti twice... Manfredy was pretty good when he beat Gatti, but someting tells me his chin wouldnt hold up vs Valero.
Yeah, and you forgot to mention that Mosquera was ranked as the Ring's #3 junior lightweight in the world at the time that Valero knocked him out in Mosquera's hometown. The two junior lightweights ranked higher than Mosquera at the time? Barrera and Pacquiao. Gatti got his ass kicked by Micky Ward. Valero destroys Gatti.
At Super Featherweight, Gatti would probably beat Valero, could even stop him at some point. It would be an absolute war to the finish though. At Lightweight it's a different story though. Valero was a significantly more refined fighter, and he would probably beat Gatti by decision.
Styles make fights and for as tough as Gatti was i dont see him going 10 or 12 rounds... These are guys are gonna clash and both were big bombers and go for broke warriors.... Dont see this lasting... Gatti and Ward went 30 rounds.. But Ward didnt have Valeross skillset or speed,,, Also Gatti was sure getting nailed alot at LW cant see him lasting... Even if Gatti were to pull the upset it wouldnt be by decison.. SOmeone is getting Kod here.
I think it would last, ya know? Gatti was never knocked out at Lightweight, the only stoppage loss was on cuts to Angel Manfredy. I don't think Valero's power is all it was cracked up to be at lightweight, personally. Looking at the Demarco fight, he couldn't knock Antonio out, and although Demarco is durable, Adjaho had him shook early which suggests to me that he could be hurt and knocked out, and it wasn't purely down to punch resistance that he was able to survive Valero's onslaught without touching down. If Demarco could go without getting knocked out against Valero, then I think Gatti (with his awsome powers of recovery) could do the same. Not to say I think he'd win against Valero. At LW, Gatti would probably lose very widely on the scorecards. I do think at Super Featherweight Gatti would have a chance, though. He wouldn't win for definite, I'd have no qualms with anyone picking Valero to win down there, but I do feel that he'd have a realistic chance of winning. The Valero/Mosquera encounter doesn't exactly inspire me.
Valero is a legit fighter with great skills. He didn't fight enough marquee fighters bc of his head injury but he is God Gifted in boxing.
Valero is a beast. I have seen many many fighters but he is special. The guy had insane power and underated skills. He beat erik morales in sparring like he was an amatuer. Tons of people claims he hits harder than a lot of super middle weights.
Valero was on another level. Gatti would have been stopped by Valero and it would've been a one-sided beating.
Willie pep = duck, run, pitty pat. his first 40 fights are 90% bums. and as soon as he stepped up he loses.
Gatti will not last more than 4 rounds against Valeros. I don't care how good he could take a hit at 135. Valero got tnt in his hands and he will not stop trying to hurt you until you are koed. Gatti doesn't have the defense to get away from this monster.
Antonio Demarco is hardly the pinnacle of punch resistance. If Valero is such a beast, explain how a guy who was buzzed against Anges Adjaho managed to go 9 rounds with him.
