After the Lebedev fight I think most are agreed that Roy is slightly past his best. He still looked good at times but this didnt look like the Roy Jones of old to me.

Calzaghe suffered a KD early in thier fight but it was a forearm shot more than anything. After this though Calzaghe was able to make adjustments which Roy couldn' figure out. It was a masterclass, especially when you consider how past it Joe was with his hand problems.

Alot of Americans say that Roy was past it at this stage. Were they saying that when Roy had just beaten Trinidad in one-sided fashion? It should also be noted Roy went onto beat Sheika and Lacy. Any decline he showed in these fights could be down to Joe more than anything.

Nonsense. He was clearly at his peak, and only tremendous will and immense punching power of the mighty Welshman could sway the hard fought decision in favor of Calzaghe, the #1 P4P fighter of All Time!

Did you really just say Calzaghe vs. Jones was a masterclass?

    Oh dear.

he was past his best. his punch resistance had gone particularly...not that calzaghe could take advantage of that. in terms of other things he wasn't as shot as people make out.

so; despite being past his best...it was still a masterclass...

i expect people will bring up that quote from jc's book tho...even tho it was ghostwritten by peter shuttleworth & i'd be amazed if calzaghe even read it.
