Manny Pacquiao. Not as badly as Duran. However If I have to hear the same B.S. about how he punches from all anagles or even worse how great his overrated resume is...

Lennox Lewis hes an atg but he just barely cracks my top 10.(have him 9th) ,unlike most of the posters here who have him in the top 5 or as high as 2 or 3.

Jim Jeffries... Strong and big man in his day(atheletic too) but by many accounts he seemed a little raw and came around at the right time, and against much smaller guys.

Old George- Great punch on Moorer, but come on he wass getting his ass handed to him, before the hail mary shot.... Lucky to beat Schulz,Stewart ..Given a tough fight by Savarese..And lost another overrated guy in TOMMY MORRISON.... IMO Foreman was more like a very dangerous lower top 5-10 guy in the 90s., and not one of the elite Hws like hes been made out to be.... .... His best fight might have been when he lost to Holyfield.

Kostya Tszyu like Lewis i thnk hes a great fighter but not as high as many have him... Some argue he might have been the or one of the greatest JW of all time.... I think hes j a notch below Chavez,Pryor for that spot, good resume at JW but hth i dont give him much of a chance.

Hector Camacho i like him and he was a super talent..But he gets a little too much love hear in Fantasy matchups... Very very good but i dont know if id call him a great fighter.

Britain: Lennox Lewis-too much overzealous hyping and dismissing of weak points by Brits eager for a great heavyweight.

Nigel Benn\Chris Eubank\Joe Calzaghe-loved by the slightly more casual British boxing fan and usually at the focal point of all the tiresome Brit vs USA forum ****

Ken Buchanan-one of the homoerotic romanticisers favourites

Africa:Azumah Nelson.....the sloppy inconsistency of his post-feather career still too often overlooked for my liking.

Rest of Europe:Klitschko's-mixture of the reasons for the Brit fighters, just replace "Brit" with eastern euro lunatic

Cerdan-At middle i've never thought his record justified the consistent high placings and praise by magazines, first hand accounts and "historians" he's had for years.Doesn't seem to be quite as highly regarded now though, so maybe a bit of a redundant pick.

Mexico:Olivares-gets a bit too much of a pass for his partying lifestyle cutting short his prime, though opposition fought and ability to come back at feather a few times counters it somewhat

Ricardo Lopez-nowhere near what it was, but still often given excessive ratings and props. Most likely to be named as the be all and end all lower-weight badass by some ***** that has hardly ever followed anything below Feather.

JMM,Barrera, Morales-Similar to the Brit Trio and also benefiting massively from being the first era of top smaller men to be debated on over teh interweb.Generally had their skills and greatness elevated a couple notches above what they really showed in the ring imo.

Rest of the Americas:Duran\Whitaker-hordes of fanboys and nutters make trying to have a decent discussion on either a chore, people need to settle down with emphasising and jizzing on Pea's relative completeness(minus power) as a fighter.Stop! it was necessary a few years ago, not so much now.

Holyfield-Like Nelson, too many dodgy efforts overlooked or casually dismissed

PBF-just plain overestimated skills and accomplishments-wise.benfited from a weak era for his wieghtjumping

Burley-Another romantic fantasisers favourite.Too many speak on this fighter with an authority that belies they have barely seen a single fight of a lengthy career

    Locche-see Burley and Buchanan

ole Mongoose-General drop-off in competition at 175 that co-incided with lengthy reign at advancing age never seems to be discussed

Tito, Shane Mosley-number of rather obvious flaws were rarely addressed in favour of legions of cocksucking fanboys lapping up the more obvious flashy skills and KO's regardless of who they came against. Two runaway hype trains that were gloriously derailed.

    Asia:Khaosai galaxy-same as Lopez.

    Australia:Kostya Tszyu-mental aussie\Eastern euro bias.

Most of these fighters i rate highly regardless, but for various reasons came to mind for fighters currently i think are often overestimated on the forums especially.

He was 1 of d 1st 2 cross my mind but I decided against mentioning him cause not many rated him anywhere or bother to mention him as a good win. Mentiong him as a good win shows how desperate a nuthugger becomes when he's wrong

Holyfield. I might get lots of **** for this.

    Lost trilogy to Bowe,
    lost to Moorer,
    beat old man foreman
beat old man holmes (who Tyson sparked years earlier)
beat Tyson who had just spent 4 years in prison

He deserves credit for this dont get me wrong, but i just feel hes overrated

Its funny how hes called a warrior for going to war with bigger guys, and being smaller. Yet Tyson gets shitted on for knocking bigger mother****ers out and Tyson would struggle with XYZ because they were bigger than him. Even though Tyson only ever lost to Douglas and Lewis (+ Holyfield on steroids)

Also he seems to have an excuse for every fight he lost to (as do all fighters)
If Tyson had beaten Holyfield, Tyson would have gotten no credit.
Its funny how he was diagnosed with a heart problem after losing and then suddenly hes healed again...?

Ironic that his last fight was stopped due to a headbutt...!

I think that due to the recent backlash against Jack Dempsey on this site, he is verry decidedly un the under rated category at the moment.

It seems that Ray Robinson is held to a lower standered than everyone else. What is a boxer of his callibur losing to Jake LaMotta, Randy Turpin, Joey Maxim (no it's not impresive that he ran out of gas or got heat stroke or was giving up 15 lbs. He should have been better conditioned. hydrated and it's not Maxim's fult Robinson weighd what he did.), Ralph Jones, Gene Fullmer and Carmen Basilio. Before 1960 yet he did.

I'm not questioning Robinson's talents/skills/abillities. I consider him a top 4 all time great. However in any sport. You have to win when it matters most. Who is the greater QB Dan Marino or Joe Montana? I'm going to guess you picked Montana. Why Marino has more career yards 61,361 to 40,551. Touchdowns 420 to 273. Yet Monatna has 4 Super Bowl Rings which he earned as the starting QB. How many dose Marino have? 0. Why is Montana often considered the best ever? It's the four Super Bowls he won. Montana won when it mattered most. When it mattered most Robinson came up short.
He had over 100 fights. This is an overrated stat even regaruding my choice for the best ever Benny Leonard. How many of these bouts were non tittle bouts? Sure they were a product of the time but am I suposed to be impresed that he beat Don Ellis and Kid Marcel for example. If he's going to have an off night it should have been against the likes of them. He wasn't too old in any fight before 1960.
This is not an anti Robinson post. However I have a problem with the blind acpatance without the same critical outlook that all the other boxers in history go through.

    WOW, just WOW!!!

I have just read, in a classic boxing forum no less, that Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali and Roberto Duran, are overated:lol::lol::lol:
