How can you argue he has no defense? when ever you come to fight your going to leave openings no matter who you are Floyd included... Manny can box but he rather fight.
Floyd is saftey first and would do anything and everything to avoid conflict on that level....
Floyd has a great defense great counter punching skills great foot work awsome speed etc.... but he does not have the ability to go in that ring and fight a fighters fight he never has done that and he isnt going to start now...
and should he start to fight like that perhaps your opinion of his defense may be compromised cus he will get hit alot more fighting that style.

Bernard Hopkins could fight from all ranges ,of the back or front foot.

Toney could fight from all ranges, off the back or front foot.

Marquez could fight from all ranges, off the back or front foot.

Morales could fight from all ranges, off the back or front foot.

I could go on and on.

If Floyd is so well rounded, where is his combination punching? Where has he shown consistent work to the body (and not just 1 or 2 examples). When does he ever take any risks outside of throwing 1 or 2 punches a time? Where has he shown the ability to surive awar, or had his heart tested?

Pacquiao fought Hatton off the back foot throughout the fight. Defensively, pacquiao can counter punch and slip punches as good as anybody. Maybe you should watch him a little more closely.

Pac is a great fighter he really is but he falls short of Floyd in this department of being versatile....not even a knock on him....he does a heap of things great!

 

its not a question of why would you go out there and fight or brawl the idea is that the fact that fighters can fight that style is another added skill to their arsenal...
being able to box is one thing but when you can mix it up with boxing and banging thats a bit different dont you think? Banging it out is not checkers by any means those who claim they love the sweet science need to understand that being able to sit inside the eye of the storm and bang it out while using a pretty good defense that is also a skill.

all those fights you pointed out was not strategic brawling it was boxing period....

Floyd can mix it up with an opponent and not get busted up like Pacquiao because of his defense. Why do you take credit away from Floyd because he's good at not getting hit.
Go watch the Corley fight, he mixes it up a lot there and still doesn't get hit much, but he does take a few good shots
