Paul Spadafora would have given Mayweather one of the thoughest fights of his career, fact.

Been watching Spadafora over the last while, amd he was one hell of a technician.

Ricardo Mayorga vs Fernando Vargas wasn't a close fight (I had it 117-110 Mayorga) and there is no way El Feroz could have won (on any card).

Duran got a gift against Barkley imo.

Not a gift IMO. I had it 114-113 both times I scored it, can't see anything other than that either way.

On Norris: I see him praised as 'one of the best @ 154' all the time: must be due to sheer number of defences, because his resume isn't particularly impressive.

On Spadafora; again, I agree he looks decent, but his opposition has been consistently dreadful.

Spadafora seems to have gotten that reputation for causing Mayweather problems in sparring. Floyd had been out of the ring, not in great shape, and probably needing to work on his sharpness. It was all Spadafora early on, but Mayweather was blocking and slipping a lot of shots. Eventually Floyd found his rhythm and basically schooled Paulie from then on.

I doubt it would have taken long in the ring. Floyd, at that weight, was a nightmare for anyone. He had speed, timing, decent pop, variety of skills and an awesome ring IQ.

What gave credence to Spada’s story was that Floyd offered him a fight when he was in legal troubles and dead at the weight, knowing he wouldn’t accept it. But there’s no technical reason to think Paul would have beaten Floyd, or done a better job than Castillo did.

I still think Floyd would have beaten him, just think that he would have given him quite a lot of trouble.

I rewatched it the other day and in my view Duran was outlanded and outworked until the last few rounds. I thought Al Bernstein called the fight perfectly

In my honest opinion, Andriy Kotelnyk is the 3rd best light welterweight in the world behind Bradley and Khan.

Boxrec's rankings arent only faulty, but also corrupt - 7 out of the top 10 in the Light Welterweight division are American.

If Audley Harrison could take a punch, and knew he could, he would of won a world title.

This is fair as well. I just felt Duran was the general at times, Barkley landed some big shots throughout but it was even.

The kd swayed it for me, and whether you see it as a win or not, for a former Lightweight against a gigantic Middleweight beast it was an astounding performance.
