There are always 2 sides to the story and then the truth. I do believe that Mike at the time did try things with Teddy's niece and Teddy may have been envious of Cus's love for Mike. Teddy's father was a doctor and a good doctor who helped the poor without taking money but Teddy knew a lot of the Mafia guys in Brooklyn, Sammy"the Bull" Gravano used to train in Teddy's gym with Teddy. Even though Teddy was close with a lot of the boys it does not make him a killer but he knew he would need a gun to scare Iron Mike and it did....I don't blame him for bringing a gun but it does not make him less of a man that he did not pull the trigger

I agree, what Teddy did was warranted and does not make him a worse person for doing it. A lot of people either don't know or don't care that Teddy does a ton of charity work and has his own charity foundation that helps a lot of people. Teddy is very rough around the edges and Ithink it pushes people the wrong way.

Briggs hit hard though, did Tyson have the stomach for that kind of stuff anymore?

Although, i never thought id say this, Tysons chances increase after the first few rounds!!!!!!

Cheers for posting this, Teddy does come off as a wannabe tough guy however if Mike was trying it with his niece he had to do something. Plus I think his goal would have been to scare Mike not kill him.

Teddy is a legitimately tough guy though. Obviously he'd lose a fight to a professional fighter, and would be litterally killed by any heavyweight champion or contender in a street fight...any champion or contender for that matter would beat any of us in a street fight with relative ease.

Teddy would beat your average Joe in a street fight however. He knows how to fight, he just can't fight at the professional level. Just because he wasn't good enough to fight pro it does not mean he isn't tough. He's one of the last people not including fighters that I'd want pissed off at me.

Teddy couldnt even fight as an amateur. His excuse was a bad back. Bad backs get worse with age not better. Now hes a little, old fat guy with a scar on his face,a chip on his shoulder and a mouth bigger than his accomplishments.

Teddy met Gravano 10 years after he left Cus, at time he had trouble with Tyson they did not know each other. Atlas did love gangsters and tough guys, cause he was punk himself. He faked bad back to avoid golden gloves, he did have amateur fights where he fought inexperienced kids who had no real trainers or sparring like he did. He's a little tough, not as much as he makes self out to be.

I'm waiting for day that girl, now in her 40's, comes forward and tells truth. She may be afraid of Atlas putting gun to her head though.

How can people say Teddy is tough? Based on what exactly????

Teddy should show Mike more respect, he's still making money off Mike's name.

I agree, for as much of a "scumbag" as Mike seems to be, he has always been classy in his own way. And yes, Lewis would have been an early KO for Tyson, ala Carl Williams.

He's not so little..or fat for that matter. He won an amateur tournament and his back started bothering him and he had to stop fighting or it would get worse.

People constantly say how Teddy is a wannabe tough guy and all that and would never say what he says to a person's face, but I find it a bit funny because I'd bet money they would never dare say to Teddy's face what they say on the internet.

Do you know him, or have you met him? I have, he is not so tough, is a bully (something he calls Tyson and others) and has had ass kicked when he did have one on one fights. He's been told off, and done nothing. Well, at least till he had a gun, bat, or some backup.

You keep defending him, are you fan through his book, or tv? Or did you get to see him once briefly and liked him? I could put up names of about every fighter, trainer, or manager he worked with and had trouble with, but what' s the use?

Also, no one here is talking TO him, we're talking ABOUT him :D

Teddy is not a *****. He has fought with just about everyone hes worked for. Hes very set in his ways and has an explosive personality. Look what he did to George Foreman when he thought Foreman was bullshitting the public. Hes a crazy dude.
