Is Hyland genuinely trying to beat Johnny Caldweld's record or something? :D

Because Pajo has been fighting the same level of competition for a good while and probably could have challenged for the european title a good while ago if he made a push for it.

Well did Moylette put himself out of the running by now at 64 by not weighing in?

That would be fair enough so, Sutcliffe and Hickey deserve their chances since they got further than him in the nationals.

I think Moylette goes, no matter what, same for Kenny probably and Con Sheehan.
I would agree that 60 and 69 are the two to play for, I would expect it to be Donovan and McLaughlin. Making the finals could even be enough. They can hardly demand that the winners of these Opens go, and then make an exception for the injured finalists?

Plus, fair play to Egan and Sheehan for swallowing their pride and being practical in this, it helps the team and Joe Ward was always a cert IMO, even if Egan beat him 10-0 at 81kg this week.

    Prelims:

69Kg: Brian Brosnan (Crumlin) v Michael Reilly (Portlaoise)
69Kg: Graham Hogan (Crumlin) v Stephen Donnelly (All Saints

    Quarter-final (11am):

69Kg: Niall Murray (Gorey) v Adam Nolan (Bray)
69Kg; Roy Sheahan (St Michael's Athy) v TBA
    69Kg: TBA v TBA
    69Kg: TBA v TBA

It would appear not Matt! That one's very open so, Nolan was impressive in the nationals but Joyce, Donnelly, Brabazon, Gallagher and Reilly could challenge. Wonder if the Crumlin boys will have a say. Or an old favourite of mine, Sheahan.
