I thought KEN won quite handily . And I never thought ALIs little late round flurries won it for him . But the fact is I never thought much of the 70s version of ALI . And Im sure the 70s where grossly overrated .

 

ok so if you thought ken won handily, then considering Ali was the undisputed champion, surely you think Ken then deserved to be the undisputed champion right? and he didn't lose until he thought Holmes in 78.

 

:roll: Yep . But since VITALY is considered the better brother by most he has a similar cliam under the unusaul circumstances . And it doesnt change the fact that I simply dont see KENS resume being better then VITALIES with all things being considered . ( Just like I dont think MAX is better then LARRY or has a better resume dispite him beating JOE who was far better then any of LARRYs oponents ) I mean GUNBOAT SMITH has a ko of DEMPSEY but i dont think much of his resume .

 

the difference here is kenny proved his superiority over Ali. vitali has to prove his superiority over Wlad. tyson overtook foreman in 96 but his opposition was significantly better. atm wlad is number 1, is dominating and is fighting better opponents than anyone else in the division. there is no good reason to put vitali above him.

which top 5 of vitali would you put above ali, ali, young, quarry, garcia?

not to mention bobick and zanon! plus cob later in his career.

 

:good Ill leave ALI out but the rest of the mentioned guys where no better then the SAMS or KIRKs on VITALIES resume . Eccept the fact that they were smaller and less powerful !

 

Vitali is a great fighter, but a late starter. Norton was a very physical fighter and even great jabbers like Holmes and Ali struggled so in this case Vitalis or Wlads jab would be irrelevant. Vutali might win a close decision, but the last person you want to take into the last rounds is Norton and neither bro goes for the ko early. Norton would wear both bros down and was easily as fit if not in better shape than the 2. If Wlad who fights more on instinct didnt ko Norton early I could see Norton wearing him down and winning a decision. This aint Shannon Brigs or Haye we talkin about!

Well outside of beating LARRY in 73 DUANE accomplished nothing . LORANZO ???? Common . Quarry was shot and so was ALI . YOUNG was never much . The other guy isnt worth mentioning . So lets see has KEN ever beat a guy as dangerous as SAM PETER or PINEAPPLE or GOMEZ ? ( And for the record the YOUNG fight could have went either way .
