Pressure?? Maidana isn't a pressure fighter, he's a slugger. Rios has shown the ability to fight against all styles Maidana is made to order for him and he would eat a wide open and slow guy like Maidana for lunch. If anything it would be Rios' pressure that Maidana would subcome to.:deal

EM had some success with it but is too old. Rios could box or bang with Maidana who IMO is very average at best. Rios has Maidana beat in all departments with the exception of power and even that's up for debate. Rios IMO is a special fighter who will only get better.

Rios has better punching form and a tighter guard on the inside, but Maidana has more raw power and is incredibly durable, on top of being much less predictable. I'd take Maidana by KO.

Maidana less predictable? coming in in straight lines throwing wild crude punches All the time is predictable

    Marcos by ko I think.

I think the bigger Maidana would be able to impose his size a lot more.

They're wild and come at all sorts of strange angles, which is exactly why they're unpredictable. Crudeness in moving and punching form complicates conventional defensive maneuvers, which Rios barely even has. A swarmer can beat a slugger, but Rios isn't refined enough to seamlessly mix his offense with his defense in a way that would neutralize Maidana's punches. He only needs an inch of space to operate, as he showed when he knocked Victor Cayo out for the count with a seemingly light shot to the solar plexus out of a tight clinch.

Maidana can be backed up, but has only been so against taller fighters utilizing straight punches (Khan, Morales). If Maidana could take Ortiz's best shot and keep coming, I think he can trade with Rios and get the best of him. It will be a good fight and Rios will be a good 140-pounder, but the specifics of the match-up favor Marcos.

care to elaborate. For me day have similar size and power. Rios thus far have proven to have even better chin and he has a good jab. Rios late TKO

Rios is not rangy but he uses a lot of straight rights and has good jab. He can box Maidana
