    holmes - spoon

1: 10-9 holmes boxed brilliantly behind the jab setting the pace and controlling the action.
2: 10-9 another good round for holmes behind the jab. couple of spoon's shots got through but larry controlled the action.
3: 9-10 good round for spoon as he finally penetrates larry's jab and lands some good shots of his own.
4: 10-9 a tactical battle as they exchange jabs for the most part, unfortunately for spoon he's up against the best jab in history
5: 10-9 another good holmes round fighting off the back foot with good jabbing and combos
6: 10-9 holmes boxing beautifully behind the jab landing big rights at times as well, some spoon punches get through but not often enough
7: 9-10 sppon edges a close round but ships some huge right hands in the process
8: 10-9 holmes controlling behind his jab for the most part, share inside exchanges during the last minute.
9: 9-10 excellent round by spoon as he almost stops holmes, survives some series bombs back off larry in the final minute.
10: 10-9 good homes round behind the jab, spoon finds some success late on in the round but yet again he hasn't done enough consistently
11: 9-10 spoon actually outjabbed holmes this round in a very good display by the challenger
12: 10-9 spoon should have taken the last round but began clowning when on top and tsrated eating jabs and rights off larry.

Most generous card to Hatton I've ever seen. You gave him rounds in which he didn't land many punches. Did you like the aggression?

I scored it 89-81 for Mayweather, myself. Would be curious to hear what it is you were looking at.

I did like the pressure jab of Hatton & his come-forward aggression.

Plus i didn't really appreciate the pot-shotting of Floyd, until he started to use combos too.

Maybe i was generous giving Ricky round 6, but i was so disgusted at Cortez for taking a point off him when he glancingly tapped Floyd on the back of his head, when he had spun himself around against the ropes. The commentators even said Floyd does that sort of tactic in 90% of his fights. At the end of the day, round 6 could've went either way, & you could probably say the same thing about round 1 too. At least i gave Mayweather a 10-8 round for the hurtful asswhupping he gave Hatton in the 8th, Lederman did not.

    Hopkins-Calzaghe

1: 10-8 clear hopkins round with the knockdown to boot.
2: 10-9 hopkins wins the round based on clean effective punches and effective aggression.
3: 10-9 hopkins again landing the cleaner shots and having the more effective aggression.
4: 9-10 good display of ring genralship by calzaghe as he pretty much bossed the round.
5: 9-10 very good jabbing by joe off the front foot to take the early part of the round, coming off lsightly better in the latter exchanges.
6: 10-9 aside from a good left landed by joe at the start of the round he was quite soundly outboxed by hopkins on the back foot.
7: 10-9 joe misses far too many punches and the only meaningful punch is landed by hop at the end of the round as he stuns joe.
8: 9-10 hopkins nullifies most of joe's attack on the backfoot but fails top land anything significant himself aside from a flashy combo at the bell
9: 10-9 brilliant defensive display by hopkins landing some very good clean counters in the process.
10: 9-10 hopkins takes a breather after going down from a dubious low blow and the finesse of his earlier counters seems to abandon him.
11: 10-9 again the finesse of hopkins earlier work isn't there but this time he seems to edge the inside exchanges frustrating calzaghe.
12: 9-10 quite a scrappy round with joe winning it on ring generalship as his aggression cancelled out b-hops defence.

    Floyd v castillo 1

1: 10-9 very good boxing off the back foot by floyd behind his jab.
2: 10-9 rinse and repeat, again floyd controls the action from the back foot keeping out of range and popping out his jab.
3: 10-9 again more of the same as floyd boxes comfortably on the backfoot and jlc not doing much of note when he gets inside
4: 10-9 floyd winning again on the outside but it's becoming more running as jlc begins to close the gap with jabs and lunging uppercuts.
5: 10-9 floyd cathces castillo everytime he thinks of punching during the first 2 minutes, castillo closes the gap in the last minutes and starts to put some hurt on lil floyd.
6: 9-10 JLC effectively closes the gap this round backing floyd onto the ropes landing some good shots
7: 9-10 floyd has sporadic succes on the outside but jlc relentless pressure tells and he has the much better work.
8: 9-9 jlc winning the round but loses a point at the bell.
9: 9-10 floyd unable to keep jlc on the outside and his own defence is now overly negative.
10: 9-9 brilliant display of hit and not get hit by floyd in this round, but then loses a point for an elbow.
11: 10-9 very good battle on the inside, floyd makes castillo miss most of his shots and lands some brilliant short hooks.
12: 9-10 floyd reverts back to his negative tactics as jlc chases him round the ring and firing off his punches.

yeah I agree, with round scoring I had marquez going 1-0-1 with pac. with 10 point I have him going 0-2 by virtue of the kd's.

mab-morales 1 - a war like this doesn't need analysis, it's down to who edges the exchanges.

    1: 10-9
    2: 10-9
    3: 9-10
    4: 9-10
    5: 9-10
    6: 9-10
    7: 9-10
    8: 10-9
    9: 10-9
    10: 9-10
    11: 9-10
    12: 10-8

    113-114

the best way to descrive how I saw this fight is like a sniper rifle vs a shotgun. morales landed precise hard shots and mab slugged his heart out trying to blast morales away. based on morales landing the cleaner shots he won 7 rounds in my books making him a 1 point victor.

    em - mab 2

1: 9-10 this second fight is much more a chess match with the refined mab controlling the action in the first
2: 9-10 again mab the boxer puncher is keeping morales at range with his jab work and occasionally landing good shots of his own.
3: 10-9 morales picks off some very good shots in this round, mab finishes quite strong behind the jab but it's not enough.
4: 10-9 good round for morales who is able to control mab from range keeping him ineffective on the back foot.
5: 10-9 morales causing mab loads of trouble with his reach as he again controls range keeping mab on the back foot.
6: 9-10 mab times his shots much better this round, closing the distance behind his jab.
7: 9-10 mab boxes well behind his jab again this round but is seemingly knocked down only for it to be ruled a slip. good finish by morales.
8: 10-9 morales boxes well on the backfoot here popping his jab, mab has some success against the ropes but not enough to nick it.
9: 9-10 mab won the first half of the round with em edging the second. mab nicks it based on his last second flurry.
10: 10-9 morales wins the outside exchanges this round seeming to impose himself more than mab.
11: 9-10 quite an evenly matched round with mab edging the inside echanges against the ropes.
12: 9-10 round was better suited to the tempo of the first fight with mab getting the best of the brawling.

    113-115
