Our best boxers typically came from rough neighborhoods in American cities. Nowadays, you can't fistfight there without the serious risk of getting jumped, stabbed, or shot. Now, instead of turning out boxers, our rough neighborhoods are turning out NBA and NFL players or gang members who get caught up in a prison system which no longer offers boxing as a way out.

One other thing that has changed is the historic emergence of a new saviour of HW boxing, none other than David Haye.

 

If this is true, why haven't other countries overtaken the USA? Again, if not for EastEurope the USA would still #1 by far. Why hasn't Mexcio, France, and all the other countries started beating the USA in the heavyweight division if its been weakened by the NFL and NBA?
