Is Floyd piggy backing off the Mexican fanbase?

Is it a coincidence that he's now fighting for the 2nd time against a Mexican on the wknd of Mexican Independence Day? Of course he knows this will bring in more money from the Mexican fans. He rode the coat tails of Hatton and Hattons fanbase, and also did the same against Delahoya. Now there's talk about fighting Khan in the UK. Hmmmm..... He is indeed the biggest draw in boxing but does anyone see a patern here?

He significantly drew in more people in fighting someone who has the same fanbase in theory, the BLACK AMERICAN Shane Mosley, than he did beating up a white boy and Mexican.

 

I agree. Its maximizing his profits, but is he really the draw that he has become on his own name? I would like to see how he does against an opponent without a rabid fanbase. Pac did 700k against Clottey. I'm curious to know what Floyd would do against a similar opponent like Clottey who has absolutely no fanbase.

Yes but SSM is a very popular future HOF fighter who's fought in many high profile fights. Never a huge draw by himself but very popular indeed.

Did I say anything that's way off base here? If you think about it, what I said holds water. His undefeated record in combination with a fighter who has a strong backing/fanbase = great #'s. Its a strategy that works great for him. All i'm asking is, would he put up similar #'s against a Clottey like opponent?

 

This is the thing with Floyd. He will never do us that favor.
