Never said that. All I said is that he's maximizing his #'s by fighting fighters with a big fan/ethnic following, and although he is a big draw, would he do the same type of #'s against a fighter without a huge following?

Floyd vs. Clottey would have done like 100k buys.

25 people would have showed up in Dallas Cowboys stadium.

  3. No he wont. Floyds chooses opponents who are a potential threat to him (in they eyes of the public)

People want to see him getting knocked out. And those yearly comebacks are brilliant, everybody is guessing if Floyd is still at his best and buy the PPV.

If Khan were smart, he would play hardball with Floyd at the negotiation table for a fight in the UK. Khan is a huge draw there, and although Khan would would make more with Floyd than anyone else not named Pacquiao, it's Floyd who's benefiting as well off of Khan's huge following. Khan can fight pretty much any respectable opponent in the UK and do huge #'s. Floyd needs Khan's fanbase more than Khan needs a payday against Floyd in my opinion.

Shane Mosley has a huge ethnic following? Please show me Mosley's astounding pay per view numbers. :rofl

  8. The only reason why Floyd wants Khan in UK is...

HBO PPV + SKY PPV = :scaredas:

I agree. Its the hatred for him along with his undefeated record that keeps him marketable, and as long as he fights someone popular and someone whom the casual fans believes has a chance at beating or KO'ing Floyd, he will continue to do big #'s.

 hell no that's not true. Khan needs Floyd way more than Floyd needs Khan.
That's why Khan is the one ALWAYS brining up Floyd's name. His career is shaped so he can finally fight him. Kinda like how the mid part of Floyd's career was shaped around getting him a fight with Oscar.

If Khan tries to be too picky with Floyd after Floyd beats Pacquiao, he can just go on to Sergio

With the Oscar and Hatton fights, at the time boxings 2 most popular fighters, Im sure Floyd built a following. By now he doesnt need anyones help to sell a fight. Im sure he made alot of casual fans with his wwe and dancing schtick. Indirect ways of self promotion.

Yes, I see what you're saying. I just can't name a single fighter there is demand or was demand for Floyd to fight that doesn't already have a fanbase.

I don't see him fighting Martinez simply because that guy is a middleweight.

I never said Mosley has a huge ethnic following. I even said that Mosley is not a big draw by himself. What I said was that Mosley is a very popular fighter who's been in many high profile fights against popular fighters. That along with the notion that people really thought Mosley had a decent shot at beating and possibly KO'ing Floyd resulted in good ppv #'s for that fight. It's not as if Floyd fought a black Joe Schmo. He fought SSM. A future HOF who was coming off a very impressive win.

I would say Hatton Floyd's victim with the weakest fanbase IN AMERICA.

Floyd still cracked 850,000 American PPVs.

Hatton's fanbase, which is mostly based in Britain, showed for itself. Mayweather-Hatton broke the UK PPV record by selling 1.2mil PPVs.

If Floyd was to fight another no name in America, I think he would do more American numbers than the Hatton fight this time around. Floyd punking emmanuel, his legal trouble with the law, and the additional success in the ring has only made him more notorious and followed.

A good gauge of his drawing power would have been against a fighter like Berto had Berto beaten Ortiz. How many ppv's do you think that fight would have done? I see it doing around 500-600k
